For student, their journey starts right from the beginning in this very social arena. An individual grows as a reflection of the values that he has received from his family, friends and school. Equally important is the role of social guardianship which is played by the society, its people and its institutions.
They are taking assistance from coaching institutions, many of which have helped genuinely in students favour. The various courses offered can help a student preparing seriously for competition may require help from time to time; but the recent change in trends of the study pattern tells a different story altogether.
There has been large-scale mushrooming of coaching institutions and also a decline in the quality of students from our state. A big reason for this degradation is coaching institutions, that promise to get one through IIT and medical entrance.
Are these institutions selling a commodity that can be bought at payment of a fair price?
Students' Oxygen Movement is a movement that works towards the benefit of students and supports causes for education to make it the biggest issue. There have been demonstrations and discussions last year to bring transparency. This year too, we have come up with 'Bachchon Ki Adalat', an awareness session that raises students' voice against the injustices due to coaching scam. We are fully prepared to bring in more transparency and flexibility in coaching institutions and make them student friendly this year. As we continue with our fight against coaching scams, we place three basic and genuine demands in students' interest-
1). Coaching fees to be paid on monthly basis.
2). Total number of students enrolled in a coaching institution to be made public.
3).Details of special coaching groups to be published.
We strive to bring a change in the system of education of the society because we feel that education is the solution to many problems.

New Year To be born again

New a word that itself provides fresh energy, Initiative and beginning a word that signifies the unknown but the awaited.
As the year 2011 has drawn to a close, we await yet another year, 2012, with open arms to embrace new life and possibilities. Despite the prevailing talks that the year is going to bring us the end, we rule out any negative thought ourselves to welcome our future into the present.
The New Year also brings with itself a new beginning. The transition from autumn, winter, and finally to spring denotes signs of birth, renewal and rejuvenation. After a long period of dormancy, nature witnesses fruition of its creatures and humankind witnesses rebirth in a much more deeper sense.
The new year symbolizes, and very aptly, conveys to us, that it is a time to be born again.
What does it mean to be born again? Of course, it bears a figurative meaning rather than a literal one. To be born again, is a way to within myself, to understand who I am, what I want, what I am doing and what should I do, where I'm going and where should I go.
To be born again means to unfurl the wings of the mind, fly to all direction possible, explore my own capacities and bring out the best in me. It means to untie the knots of complexities I am stuck up in,step out of the boundaries created by me and open the door for everyone around.
To be again means to lead life in simpler, natural ways that correspond to the beautiful symmetry of nature. To be born again means to be able to love everyone, and make my love patient, kind and unbiased. It means to consider everyone my friend even if I might be meeting someone for the first time, but make him my friend all the same, because we are bound by the ties of humanity.
To be born again means to do good and be good not be swayed away from my values by mere demands of the circumstances. It means to have faith, firm faith in God, my creator, and place this faith in myself and all beings around, understanding the fact that we are children of one supreme being.
To be born again means to never let my faith waver, no matter what the situations may be, and to have the will and ability to accept the things I can not change and for all the umpteenth number of things I cannot write and a lot more I can not comprehend, to be more again means, to start a new beginning with every new my moment with the words that keep my world in place, “Lord , let Thy will be done.”

Discovering the Santa in US!

December brings to us many things- winter, woolens, vacations, and above all, Celebration. Moreover, it also adds meaning to our life by reminding us the joy of sharing and living for humanity. With December, comes Christmas, a festival much awaited by everyone, especially children, eager to decorate their houses with Christ's Manger, lights and looking forward to the gifts and delicacies they would receive.
During the Christmas season, we celebrate the spirit of this festival with full vigor, sharing our joy with others and lighting up the lives of those around us with whatever we can.
There arises a question in the mind- Are we really keeping up the spirit of Christmas, or has it been reduced to the state of celebration and merry-making? This is a big question which needs pondering upon. What would be better than celebrating Christmas in our daily life; how is this possible? One would ask. The answer is- this is not only possible, this is also the true message of Christmas. The birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes the birth of goodwill, initiative, brotherhood and a journey on the right path. Literally as well, after December, a state of birth after a long dormancy, follows January, a new year, and, a new beginning.
St. Nicholas, our very own Santa Claus, a famous icon among the innocent children,lived the Christmas spirit in the real sense; and there he is, immortalized by his actions, teaching us the art of living year after year, each Christmas. He also shares with us one secret, that is, our joy and happiness multiply manifold when we share it with others. This is a very well-known fact, but it really would become a secret if we continue isolating ourselves from others through social barriers such as rich, poor, per capita income, etc, which we call parameters of progress.
Let us lead life in a simpler way, which is the nutshell of all religions- Do good and be good. This Christmas, let's discover the Santa Claus in us and unfold the secret of true joy and happiness. Let us be born again this Christmas, like Jesus, our savior, brushing off the dirt we have accumulated, and be one with ourselves, connecting with each other through the strongest bond- the bond of the human heart. And when we really live up to the Christmas spirit, we will hear the bells jingling and Santa coming.
What's more, when you have done your bit, there will be enough in your happiness stock to last till the next Christmas. Till then, Merry Christmas!

Need To Revamp The Education System

Students’ Oxygen Movement once again stood against all the odds and continued its fight against coaching scam. Despite of extreme cold and severe weather conditions, students made their presence felt by reitering their 3 valid demands.
Firstly, coaching fees should be taken on monthly basis. Secondly, details of the students to be published enrolled for various competitive examinations. And lastly, publish details of student under poor/tallented/minority category for free coaching.
As said by Mahatma Gandhi, Father Of our Nation, “ Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from the
indomitable will.” Following the foot steps of our Bapu, the students have taken a strong hold against coaching scam. They have been raising their voices since a long time and they are still fighting so that their demands could be met.
It is a very sad plight to see that there has been commercialization of education on a wide scale. It is almost a threat to the future of education and it will surely have severe repercussions on the future of the students as well.
Gone are the days when there was a system of Pathshalas and Gurukuls where Gurus used to transmit pure knowledge to their shishyas. And the gurudakshina used to be rendering service to the Gurus by the shishyas.
Today the scenario is different. At the time of admission itself huge chunks of money is extracted from the students without any cent percent guaranty of placement. Forget about the quality of education and the standard or even the basic educational qualifications of the teacher eligible enough to take classes.
It is high time that the government should intervene and take a strict stand against coaching centers which are money minting hubs. The guardians should also behave in a responsible manner while getting their wards admitted in coaching institutes by doing thorough enquiry about each and every details of the place. The students should help their parents in this regard.
No doubt, all these efforts will not go in vain and surely if these suggestive measures are taken into action, the future of education system will be bright and will set as a trend for others to follow.

Stand up once again

Children are said to be the real portrait of God. They are our future. They have a pure heart which is devoid of any sort of malignity. Therefore, it is the prime responsibility of any nation to safeguard their future while building a smooth platform for the present day.
In this respect, students’ Oxygen movement has been channelizing its moto of making education the biggest issue since 8 years.
Because education in itself is such a strong weapon which can bring about drastic changes in the society as well as stir the whole nation. As it is education which transforms a human being to a social being.
In the past few months, Students’ Oxygen movement has initiated a campaign against the commercialization of education, basically the coaching scam. The students have put forward 3 valid demands from the coaching institutions which are genuine.
1. The coaching fee must be taken on monthly basis.
2. Publish the details of the students preparing for different competitive examination.
3. Details of the group under category poor/minority/talented for special coaching.
The students will gather near children park S K Puri to brief the people regarding this issue. And this time the heads of various coaching institutes will also be invited to put forward their view points regarding this matter to arrive at a concrete conclusion.
If these demands are met, then it will surely ensure a free and fair system of education whereby children will not be exploited or the parents will not be duped in the name of education. This will definitely help in bringing about transparency in the field of education where no blame game could be played and also it will help in putting a check on the malpractice of the coaching institutes. It can also help in laying out a fair pattern of systematized education in the near future.

Don’t treat teachers as labourers!

Since ancient times, schools have beared the image of gurukuls and teachers have been idolized as gurus. But today’s picture has drastically been changed. There has been a commercialization of education. The bond between students and teachers is not as strong as it was in yesteryears.
The recent statement by the education minister of Bihar Government signifies the same. He has warned the Headmasters of the school that if the children are absent and their attendance remains below 75% their salary will be deducted. This statement itself shows what respect and honor we give to our teaching fraternity who were once considered as near to God. They are not our slaves and bonded laborers. If they show any kind of irresponsibility and disinterest in their duties they must be motivated to perform in the decent way. Indecent language and behavior will not improve the situation. Instead we must ensure the following condition in schools to improve the attendance:
1) Well educated teachers should be employed in schools.
2) Basic facilities be available in school.
3) Technical facilities & computer application is a must.
4) Provision of sports & extra co-curricular activities should be present.
5) No physical punishment should be given to the students.
6) A committee should be set up for training & guiding the teachers.
7) The wards of teachers & staff should be admitted in the Govt. schools.
8) Healthy & hygienic food should be made available to the students.
9) Teachers should not be given any Govt. duties other than their teaching.
10) Specific salary & other facilities be made available to the teachers.
By following all these rules, schools can ideally be considered as home away from home.

Education- An important amenity of life

India is a Developing Country. She has come a long way since the attainment of independence. There have been major breakthroughs, developments and progress in the past few decades. To be precise, it can be said that there has been a major revolution in the Indian sub-continent. But, on a sad note the fact is that India is also deemed with many a problems.
Poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, corruption and many such socio-economic problems are showcasing the present situation of the nation. In the midst of all these pitfalls, India is also tackling the major global problem of over population. More than 30% of the population is below the poverty line. The Central and State Governments have made several polices and schemes and also passed out numerous acts but there hasn’t been significant change or improvement in this regard.
India is basically considered an agricultural country where 70% of the population belong to the peasant class. But because of lack of basic knowledge and proper infrastructure, they have not been able to tap the resources judiciously. Even in the informal sector, people are not well-equipped and properly trained. The situation is such grave that more than half of the population does not have the access to the basic amenities of life-which are food, water and shelter. Forget about education!
The only remedy to all these problems is education. It is the one and only solution to eradicate & to fight any situation. When people are knowledgeable, then automatically, each and every sector of the country starts progressing. And side by side, the whole scenario of the country starts improving. In such a situation, other foreign countries also look upon the country with great expectations. It is a moment of great pride and self-esteem for the country.
It can be rightly said that education is the key to success. Therefore, education is a must for all and it should definitely be incorporated along with the basic needs of life. It is our right and nobody can be debarred from it.

Old Books Can Bring Bigger Changes

Each and everything in this earth is of use be it living or non-living thing. The value of any commodity can never be discarded or underestimated. We cannot shun away or escape from this fact. It is also said that old is gold. And it is also said that Books are the best friends of a person.
Today in this modern era, we can easily spot the cases of corruption, poverty and price rise. Prices have reached as high as sky capers. We have seen many instances that in our day to day life people give away their old clothes and valuable items to their servants and street beggars. Similarly students can also make use of recycling in their case of books. Seniors can gift their old books to their juniors.
It will not only save money and stationary but it will also help in rebuilding relationship and will add as a booster in strengthening solidarity and bonding between people. The notes jotted down by the students in the books will also enhance the bookish knowledge of their successors. It is also of eco-friendly nature.
We know that books are made of trees and bamboo. And when less trees are cut, it will only add to the beauty of the nature and will also help in the conservation of our environment. In this regard, it is important to mention that students should handle their books with utmost care, very carefully and judiciously. So that books remain in good condition for a longer time. This will also prove its durability.
If these steps are adopted with the consent of the schools it will have larger impact by following ways.
1) It will ease the burden on our wallet
2) Numerous plat will be saved by this only step since books are made with the trees alone. We won’t be able to plant and raise these many plant losses in our entire life.
3) It will help in raising the feeling of brotherhood and solidarity.
If we shun our little greed and adopt these measures it will have tremendous impact over our society and environment in particular. By this way we can induce a bigger change with these old books.

Students protest on the eve of children’s Day to fight coaching scam

Children are believed to be the purest from within and devoid of impurities like selfishness, mean minded and unhelpful nature. Their words are believed to be the words of God and must be given due respect. If they demand something from the society it must be listened, noticed and implemented as soon as possible.
Students’ Oxygen Movement are concerned and raising its voice against the malpractice of Coaching Institute.
They are conducting road show and holding Bal Adalat on the streets to make their voice heard and not only heard but to be listened and acted upon.
On the eve of children’s day they gathered in front of the children park at S.K Puri of Patna in favor of their three demands from the coaching institute. The day was very auspicious as on the following day the whole nation will be celebrating the Children’s day in remembrance of our beloved prime minister Chacha Nehru.
The children have three demands from the coaching world which are genuine and simple.
1) The coaching fee must be taken on monthly basis.
2) Publish the details of the students preparing for different competitive examination. And
3) Details of the group under category Poor/ minority/ talented for special coaching.
A transparency is the need of the hour. The government must also intervene and form strong laws which are in favor of the students to check the malpractice of the coaching Institutes.

Bakrid - The Festival Of Sacrifice

In our human society, we are very sensitive about our views and sentiments in context of religion and culture. Each and every community gives due respect to their respective religion. The month of karthik is considered to be very pious for Hindus. And during this period the feast of sacrifice also known as Bakrid is celebrated amongst the Muslims on the 10th day of DHUL-HIJJA.
It is the sacrifice made by the pilgrims and performed as part of the great pilgrimage. While the pilgrims make their sacrifices at MINA, the ceremony is observed simultaneously by Muslims everywhere. It is being prescribed in the holy QURAN.
The slaughter of animals for food for the poor which is one of the ceremonies of the Muslim is not a propitiatory sacrifice, but is in commemoration of the sacrifice of Abraham which marked the end of human sacrifices for the Semitic race, and which made it clear that only sacrifice which God requires iof man is the surrender of his will and purpose.
The sacrifice offered on the day of Eid-Ul- Adha has been instituted in commemoration of Abraham’s willingness to offer up his only son Ishmael. The sacrificial offering is divided into three portions, one being set apart for household consumption, another for friends and relatives and the third for the poor and needy. The distribution of the offering enjoined by the holy law is designed to provide a substantial meal to the poor on this festive occasion.
The animal sacrifice can be offered on the first day of the festival or any time after till the afternoon of the third day following it. For four days on this occasion i.e from the morning of the ninth to the afternoon prayer of the 14th of Dhul-Hijja, special praise and glory to God is recited after every prayer.
The festival of Bakrid teaches us the noble lesson of being selfless and it also prepares one for service and charity to the community and for the whole mankind. Basically the offering of sacrifice teaches us to be humble, kind and eager to serve the humanity which is created by the Almighty. We must also give up the bad thoughts and habits to purify our soul and to serve the purpose for which we are descended to this earth. This will definitely make our world a better place to live .

There are plenty of religions and numerous of Lords whom we worship in this living world. Be it any civilization the importance and visible God remains the Sun. Even the modern science approves this belief that the reason of our solar system and life is the only one and that is the Sun. In ancient India the Aryans truly gave importance to this very fact which is mentioned in the chanting of “Rig-Veda”. It is said that the Sun is the reason of all the life and the whole world is dependent on it for its survival. It is an established fact that all living and even non living things are dependent on energy which is directly or indirectly taken from the Sun.
Chatt the most huge and popular festival of people of Bihar which is celebrated in praise of the only visible God that is our Sun.
The sacred and pious atmosphere which is created during this festival is unmatched and is not witnessed anywhere like in Bihar. The rules and the purity which is maintained throughout this festival makes it very special. This purity symbolizes both the inner and outer world.
This festival is believed to give the result in forms of blessings showered by our Sun God. The sacred mood and atmosphere is felt all around. People have to adhere to strict norms especially regarding their food intake. People also perform prayers on the holy banks of the river Ganges which is considered the most holy river of India. People hold a belief that by taking a dip in this holy river will wash away all their wrong deeds and sins..This practice will make one malign free and will also purify one from all impurities. To conclude it must be noted that nobody can outrage the modesty of power and all forces of nature should be worshiped as we all human beings are composed of them.

Lighting our lives via education

The festive season is at its peak at this moment. Post Dushera, everybody around is busy with the preparations of Diwali and Chhath Puja. The auspicious celebration of Kali Puja also falls on this occasion.
Tracing the history of Deepawali, it is said that when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after exile of 14 years, Ayodhyawashi ignited diyas to mark this festive occasion. Since then, Deepawali is celebrated very vivaciously and warmly not only in India but all over the world. People start cleaning their houses days ahead of Diwali. Roads and streets are also decorated. Shopkeepers and businessmen open their new account on the D day. Houses are decorated with diyas, rangoli, gharonda and shandilyas. People offer prayers and worship Maa Laxmi. This festival is marked with the victory of light over darkness. It is believed that God the Almighty showers his blessings upon his devotees.
But in practical life, our Mother land is still surrounded by darkness. If a person is well-qualified & educated he/she can be self-reliant, self-independent as well as self- employed.
Unity is strength. If we all take a pledge to eradicate all these evils, only through acquiring quality education, Deepawali can be celebrated whole-heartedly each and every day and our lives will be filled with complete zeal and happiness.
Deepawali is the time to shed away all our inhibitions and our bad memories. It is the time to make a fresh beginning. We, Indians, should take the stand of making each one of us well educated and aware of our rights and duties. Then only our lives would be brightened with the spark of miracle called education or to be precise knowledge. Because knowledge is one such tool which can help in shaping the course of life of an individual. It makes a person mature and helps in moulding the overall personality. Then truly it can be stated that light of knowledge has over shadowed the gloomy spell of illiteracy and ignorance.

Hunger in Focus

World Food Day was proclaimed in 1979 by the Conference of the Food Agriculture Organisation. It marks the date of founding of FAO in 1945. The aim of the day is to heighten public awareness of the world food problem and strengthen solidarity i n the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.
In 1980 the General Assembly endorsed observarance of the day in consideration of the fact that “ food is a requisite for human survival and well being fundamental human necessity. Since 1981, world Food Day has adopted a different theme each year in order to highlight areas needed for action and provide a common focus. Most of the themes revolve around agriculture because only investment in agriculture together with support for education and health will turn this situation around.
In spite of the importance of agriculture, the driving force in the economies of many developing countries, this vital system is frequently starved of investment. In particular foreign aid to agriculture has shown marked decline over the past 20years. It is a bitter truth that millions of people still go to bed hungry. Some countries and regions are making progress but still there is hunger crisis.
In order to end world food crisis the governments have to have the political will to make international trade more fair. Education, that also preliminary, basic as well as vocational can act as a very powerful measure in combating food crisis. It is saddening to see that the producers or farmers who are the food grain bearers do not even have the access to basic amenities of life. Forget about sending their children to proper schools. To overcome this critical situation, public as well as private sectors should come together and do sincere planning & investment and work toward the betterment of one & all’s condition and environment.

2nd October is the day which is remembered by the whole world. It marks the birth anniversary of the “Father of our Nation” Gandhiji, known for his adherence to justice and non-violence. This day also known as “non- violence day.” He spread his message throughout the world that to exploit is not a crime but to be exploited is a brutal sin. His noble ideals and preaching based on peace, equality, justice and non-violence are known to all across the globe.
But in this modern era, it is not being practiced as strictly as it should be. Most prominently, the most pious of all fields that is education has not been barred from the clutches of modern exploiter. Many shops and outlets have been opened in the garb of coaching centers which is nothing but money minting business center. Surprisingly, coaching has become a part of the modern education system. They make high claims of cracking these examination with 100% success rate. Here the students preparing for various competitive examination are targeted and are given fake assurances of cracking the toughest of examination. In doing so huge amount of money is being extracted from them but the end result is barely less than 2% success ratio.
To put an end to this coaching scam students’ oxygen Movement took the initiative by raising their voices against it. They came out open and clear with three valid demands. 1) Coaching fee should be taken on monthly basis. 2) Details of the students to be published enrolled for various competitive examination. And 3) Publish details of student under poor/talented/minority category for free coaching. All these demands have been made so as to bring about transparency in education system and also to put a check on mental, financial and emotional exploitation of the students.

Why do we make schools

Schools have always been considered as the second best home for students. Be it Gurukul, Pathshala or school, they all mean the same just a little bit of modification over the period of time. The Question is Why Do We Make School? It is really Very Important to know that school is a temple of learning where an individual gets a life time opportunity to shape his future and direct his course of life.
It is a matter of great pride to be well educated. It makes a person more confident, able, character of strength and dignified. School is that place where a person becomes morally and socially conscious. It is also that venue where he becomes politically aware. In totality, an individual gets transformed into a social human being.
Parents send their ward to school with unlimited expectations. Such as he or she will become a doctor, engineer, lawyer or any other dignified respectable career prospective. And undoubtedly, school performs its functions very effectively and actively.
School also inculcates in us the values of morality, honesty, adjustment, compatibility, respect for elders, warmth for younger and above all the noble and cherished values of patriotism and humanity and kindness.
In schools and other institutions, individuals get the opportunity to interact with other students irrespective of caste, class, color, creed, religion all sex. It is also that place where people get the chance to exchange their views and thoughts. It is a perfect place to transport ideas.
School is beyond comparison to any other teaching institution in the world. No doubt, home has always been considered the first and perfect school for any tiny tot but the actual shaping of the journey of life of a child is groomed via school. A student gives in his hundred percent to his school and in return receives more than that from his Alma Marter. School is that place where student spends close to eight hours of his every day routine. here he spends quality time. So, now there should be no doubt as to why do we make schools?

Let us make education the biggest issue

We are living in a society without foundation today. A foundation which will enable the structures built today stand strong tomorrow. And when the foundation itself is weak can we expect the structures to stand tall? Can we expect a future without a present? The answer is no. Innumerable people talk of the fate of doomed students who are not getting proper guidance, the much needed changes to empower the students to be able to decide what they need but these are mere hollow talks which have not taken anyone anywhere. We need a mass movement, a revolution if we really want to do something for the students. And it is for this purpose that we have started the Creative Vision Dream School Campaign. Education and true education only can be that foundation which will give children the strength and the ability to achieve what they dream of. The Dream School campaign is going to give that much required opportunity to the students, to voice their concerns and their opinions about the ills of this foundation which is failing to give them the support for a brighter future. Through this unique initiative, we have tried and are trying again and again to create awareness among the masses that schools without proper teachers, a large number of schools that are absent from the system and a huge chunk of young population which does not even have access to the basic primary education, is not something that the future of this deserves. The rich history and the even richer cultural and literary heritage stands falsified if they fail or they are not utilised to provide concrete present to the society in the form of intellectually rich human capital. It is only through education and by utilising it that we can do more constructive work in more fields to serve more people. True education which enriches one not only academically but also morally and spiritually will eventually guide all of us on the right path where it will no more be a question of me and I but us. This feeling of oneness mingled with the spirit and passion to provide a sound educational base to our children can never fail to give a foundation to our children which we all so desperately need.

It was a terror attack by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, mastermind by the slain Osama Bin Laden. Though America was attacked, it sent shivers throughout the world. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives, many severely bruised and rest were left physically handicapped and mentally traumatized. It is said that we are the world. But the question is why there is so much hatred? What is the need for this barbaric bloodshed? Nobody is the winner, but we all are the losers as well as sinners. Because we belong to that human community amongst whom few rowdy miscreants in the mask of terrorists commit such heinous crimes. They spread terror in the hearts of people. It is extreme cruelty.We should spread the message that we all are brothers, indifferent from others, where few have chosen the wrong path. Message of peace and love has to be spread across the whole of humanity and mankind.We all live in our Mother Earth, but She is weeping at the moment because of immoral acts like terror attacks and blasts. For achieving selfish targets her sons are using arms and bombs which is not just. When the spiritual message of peace would be spread, it would be much brighter than tomorrow so that there could be no place sorrow. Be it happiness, sorrow, love, pain, anger, pride, forgiveness, trust, insecurity, understanding, compatibility and most importantly respect.... In a nutshell, a friend is a guide and also a philosopher.Family will naturally come first, nobody can take the place of parents. They are our Godfather. But, another universal fact is also true that friends are angels and gift of god. We can’t hate them, we can’t betray them, we can’t live without them. There are many a things, many a feelings, a simple thought, we human beings, just like to share it with our dear pal..... They are our friends, angels, our peer groups, our well wishers. To set the life in perfect tune, music is much needed. As it is a universal fact that music is the ultimate healer of all wounds, similarly to take a break from the daily chores of life- be it office, school, college or home, music works as the perfect anti-oxident. It is a great soother to unwind.Commonly asked question to anyone is what is your favorite pastime activity- the instant response is listening to music. Everybody wants to be a champion in his field by surpassing others. But in this process, many times success evades him. Contrary to this, there are situations where people leave it in the hands of God or upon their failure, they blame their fate and so on...
If we take a sneak peak into history, all successful people have appropriately and seriously adopted self-discipline and patience in their working policies.
Practically speaking, the reality is that man is the master of his destiny. There are many famous personalities to quote. For instance, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Gandhi & so on. These personalities have 2 common characteristic traits- self discipline & patience. If we take a look into the lives of above mentioned heroes, they have tasted success & by employing self- discipline, patience, strong will power & adjustment. Today the emphasis is given more and more on the academic excellence of the child. The physical part is generally ignored or completely neglected in most of the schools. It’s a very old saying that a healthy body bears a healthy mind. The improvement of health of the child can be ensured if we engage them in other activities like games and sports along with their studies.
We all need a break from the normal routine life since it becomes monotonous. Studies do need break after some time so that our mind can relax so that it can concentrate more. This break becomes necessary after several minutes. A good teacher tries to make class more interesting and student friendly so that students can give their proper attention and concentrate on the topic.
Like other machines, our mind and body also need some time to recharge and relax. Children have keen interest in games and like to play in school or at home. It's a common notion that they get scolded due to their this very interest by their teachers as well as parents. A child needs physical fitness along with studies for his overall development. Unfortunately we have plenty of schools which don’t have proper play grounds hence the physical part is neglected altogether. Most of the schools don’t have trained teachers and infrastructure to look after this important need.
Through sports children improve their physical fitness and their muscles and bones become strong and flexible and enhance their stamina. The brain also gets sufficient time to relax and fresh oxygen with the increased circulation and removes the toxins improving the concentration and alertness.
Nowadays with the technological advancement students are devoting lesser time in physical sports and PT at schools. They sit mostly in front of computers and like to play computer games on their mobile.
This trend is catching up with majority of school going kids. Even the eating habits have changed. They prefer ready made foods and drinks over the traditional meals. All these have bad impact on their physical and mental health. That's why they develop physical complexities like stress, obesity, indigestion, insomnia , to name the few, at early ages which is not at all good.

Ragging .. mere law will not help

Ragging has been such a tradition which bothers most of the youth moving to the colleges after their schooling. Especially in the professional colleges it has really been the menace, has spoilt the life of numerous youths. It has been banned in most of the institutions because this custom has been tarnished by some of the miscreants by making it more vulgar and violent.
According to youth, ragging is a prestige builder...it has become a rage. Their view is that it is a medium to know our juniors. But according to the socialites, it is a peril for the society. Though it is helpful in transforming an introvert into an extrovert, but the tactics used in ragging is not always fair. Sometimes the students are asked to strip tease or perform any activity which is beyond their dignity. This is seriously unfair and unjustified in the case of not only fresher or any civilized human being.
Ragging can serve as a positive factor if it is utilized in the right sense and within its limitations. It can help one a lot in facing the real world. It can act as a boost up in preparing oneself to face any situation with full confidence. Though law has been implemented in the matter of ragging, it is still not correctly employed.
Mere having law is not going to solve the problem since we have plenty of laws against some social flaws prevalent but still bother us in the absence of awareness. The law is fruitful only if people are educated and are aware of the pros and cons of it. Coming to the ragging, it is not at all a problem if it is ..... We understand the importance of seniors in the colleges and the help which we get are really immense because we can’t share everything with the faculty but seniors are always there to help be it personal or academic.
Ragging help us shed our hesitation, move out from our shells and behave in a mature and tactful way.
To conclude, it has to be stated that don’t be dependant on extras, one should have faith on oneself and always live a life of character and dignity and be prepared to face any battles or challenges. Just have self-confidence.......THAT’S IT!!!

Rain, Rain come again

The monsoon season has arrived. We feel excited about it. Each one of us enjoy rains and some deliberately wants to bathe in the rain. After the scorching summer heat the drops of rains comes for our respite and soothe our mind and body. Lots of greenery can be seen around of course with the croaking of frog singing on the tunes of the falling rain drops.
Small children do not miss any opportunity to bathe in nearby ponds and rivers. Floating paper boat is the favorite pastime. The little older students go for pool side party or rain dance. We like to play football in rainy season also. Even seniors could not stop themselves from joining.
There are few people who don’t like this messy season. They want to remain inside their house.
We have to understand the importance of water in our life. Since rain is the easiest and important source of drinking water but we hardly do anything for rain-harvesting and preserving it for future use in the scarcity of water. Rain water is the major source of underground soil water which we use mostly as the drinking purpose. Can we imagine life without water. But unfortunately very little is done for this valuable resource.
Deforestation is such an activity which is harmful in numerous ways. It affects rain in the particular area too. Plants and trees are important in attracting clouds, their condensation and ultimately culminating them into rain drops. But the unstopped cutting of forest in the name of urbanization has reduced the rain water amount. The area once de- forested receive less rain. This is happening in majority of the cities as the jungle of concrete has taken place of the natural greenery.
Apart from the bad effects of green house gases the water crisis which has become a common problem in all the major cities. Its high time we must be aware and respond in a positive way and stop watching the valuable water in which our existence depends.

Father's Day is a celebration of fathers inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities.
The first observance of Father's Day actually took place in Fairmont, West Virginia on July 5, 1908. It was organized by Mrs. Grace Golden Clayton, who wanted to celebrate the lives of the 210 fathers who had been lost in the Monongah Mining disaster several months earlier in Monongah, West Virginia, on December 6, 1907. It's possible that Clayton was influenced by the first celebration of Mother's Day that same year, just a few miles away. Clayton chose the Sunday nearest to the birthday of her recently deceased father.
Unfortunately, the day was overshadowed by other events in the city, West Virginia did not officially register the holiday, and it was not celebrated again. All the credit for Father's Day went to Sonora Dodd from Spokane, who invented independently her own celebration of Father's Day just two years later, also influenced by Jarvis' Mother's Day.
Clayton's celebration was forgotten until 1972, when one of the attendants to the celebration saw Nixon's proclamation of Father's Day, and worked to recover its legacy. The celebration is now held every year in the Central United Methodist Church – the Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, South, was torn down in 1922. Fairmont is now promoted as the "Home of the First Father's Day Service".
A bill to accord national recognition of the holiday was introduced in Congress in 1913. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson went to Spokane to speak in a Father's Day celebration and wanted to make it official, but Congress resisted, fearing that it would become commercialized. US President Calvin Coolidge recommended in 1924 that the day be observed by the nation, but stopped short of issuing a national proclamation. Two earlier attempts to formally recognize the holiday had been defeated by Congress. In 1957, Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith wrote a proposal accusing Congress of ignoring fathers for 40 years while honoring mothers, thus "[singling] out just one of our two parents"In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.

Exam time is over. Now it’s time for results. It's a very satisfactory feeling that most of the students have passed their exam successfully. Rarely very few students have not been able to compete their exams. As they have secured marks less than their expectations. These are those students who possess strong will power and they are really very dedicated.
As it has been said children are the future of tomorrow. Similarly its also a saying that every coin has 2 sides. Just like that we have success and failure. Those who have been successful they need recognition, a starter and those who have to give it a next try they need encouragement.
It's a very serious issue that many teenagers are committing heinous crimes like suicide which is not at all just. Support is needed from every nook and corner. Be it parents or teachers or be it well guided people.
If we take a sneak peak of Patna this year, the suicidal rate has been pretty high. This is not at all fair. This problem needs a serious solution nobody has the right to play with anybody’s future. Life can take any turn. Its not a clever run away from harsh realities of life. Rather we should rise, fight in case things doesn’t happen according to our wishes.
We have to remember that failures are the pillars of success. People who are considered successful by us must have also tasted the bitterness of failure. Success is sweeter if it comes by hard work and giving your blood for it.
What can be done to ease the pressure of the examination from the children? Some people believe that if there is no pressure we fail to value it seriously and might take it carelessly which ultimately will be going to harm our results. If the pressure is excessive again the children are at the receiving end and sometime the results may be disappointing and unfortunate if they do certain things that is totally unacceptable. Therefore a balance has to be maintained between pressure and ease for this occasion. Teachers and parents approach is crucial in these issues.
We must remember that no one is perfect. Every one has got their limitations and strength. The key is to focus on your stronger areas and try to get maximum out of it. Your hobbies and interest in any particular area can be developed into career option in the future. Noise of traffic acts as a slow poison- reckless honking adds more worries

Patna has witnessed phenomenal growth in the last decade be it population, urbanization, traffic as well as the numbers of vehicle on the roads. Management of people and traffic has become the biggest challenge for the traffic police in the city. There are many side effects associated with this growth also apart from pollution.
As the number of vehicles has increased on the roads so has the chaos. This works as a slow poison for us in the long run.
One crucial ailment associated with pollution is the unnecessary use of horns of our vehicle. It may be unintentional but it is observed that we are into this bad habit which adds to this menace on the road. Some people in the needless hurry use their horns to overtake creating more noise pollution.
Even the bikers andare doing this they are ore prone to the danger since they drive recklessly putting risk to their lives as well as the other commuters. Majority of them are minors and don’t even have proper license or even wear helmets for the safety.
One major culprits for the noise pollution are the VIP’S who are given special torch on their vehicle and they make unnecessary noise in order to create an impression or virtue of their powers.
We all are culprit in one sense or the other in the multiplication of this noise pollution. And our nagging habit of overuse of horns adds to the fire.
This can’t be changed by imposing stricts rule by the traffic police. The education of the public is also necessary. If we are concerned and seriously think to reduce the noise on our roads we have to behave and act in a more responsible manner.
The warning signs near hospitals, schools, etc. will have little effect even the message put as a slogan “No Horn Please” will not make severe impact.
The land of Bihar is known for its peace and tolerance. Being the Place of Buddha and Mahavira this very land preached the message of love across the world. But unfortunately we in the present era have forgotten our prestigious past which brought us glory and laurels all over the world. Now we are becoming more intolerant and harsh to others. The fast commercial world and in order to out do others at least in monetary terms we are losing some basics norms which made our culture special which taught us to give priority to others over ourselves.
We are the gen next. We are the future citizens of tomorrow. We have to seriously carry forward this noble and just idea of preventing noise pollution and creating a peaceful society. Together we have to undertake this responsibility. Support of one and all is needed. The need of the hour is creating awareness among the people not only in Patna but all over the society. Students Fight against Coaching Scam

The last month was the most tedious and tiring for the Oxygenious since they were indulged in the long battle against the coaching scam. The children park of S. K. Puri was the venue of the battle. The first Baccho Ki Adalat was held on 20 th of April. The student organized their first adalat asking some questions from the coaching world especially Anand sir the Brand Ambassador and the icon in the coaching world .
The whole episode started when a girl called Khushbu went to the janta darbar of the CM Mr. Nitish Kumar. She was weeping and demanding her fee back from Anand sir which she had given as the coaching fee. It was a shocking news for us and gave us the reason to suspect the credibility of super 30 which has given all the applaud and fame to Anand Sir all over the globe. It was against his image that he only teaches 30 poor students who belong to economically and socially backward class. Soon it was opened that there are thousands of student being taught by him by taking money.
Students were demanding transparency in the coaching world. by asking 6 simple questions from them. They were demanding that instead of taking the fee as a lump sum amount it should be charged on monthly basis. so that nobody can play with the future of the children just to mint money from them. Most of the institutes give false claim about their success rate and do not reveal the true picture. The students are lured and they fell prey to these cunning people. Their list of faculties are also fake, everything is fine for few days in the beginning soon they start to show their real picture. The faculty changes to mediocre and incompetent one. The syllabus is also left incomplete or finished in a real hurry. There are hundreds of student in one batch some even ranging to thousands. All these things are not child centric in any case and show least concern about them.
Although children got very good response from the seniors and other concerned people they had to start the relay fast to get their answer. The convener Mr. Binod Singh started his fast from 15th of May which lasted up to 25th of May. After such a long battle came the silver lining when Anand sir gave the list of Super 30 two days prior to IIT results. Today the coaching Institute has become a second school for majority of the students. It has become a common site where students visit coaching institutes once they get back from their school. It has emerged as a new trend in the society. Parents also promote their kids to go there just to have an edge over others in this cut throat competitive world. This concept is inculcated among parents as well as children that they are missing as well as lacking something if they aren’t a part of the coaching classes.The scenario of competitive examinations is even more spread out and highly commercialized. It has become a business and hardly has to do with the benefit of the students. Each coaching institute in order to have a professional mileage over their rivals publish fake and exaggerated list of successful candidates and lure people to take admission in order to book berth in prestigious medical or engineering college.Students in order to have success fell prey to these institutes but hardly get desired and satisfied results. This commercialization has to be checked. Children assembled in front of the SK Puri Children park and asked few question via the coaching wizard “Anand Sir” who has gained lots of applauds for Bihar as well as himself via his concept of super 30 in which he claims to train underprivileged 30 students and make them able to qualify in IIT-JEE entrance examination.We got partial success in our mission when few coaching institutes took initiative and published the list of those students who are expected to crack IIT -JEE this year. This we are doing to have transparency in this field so that the child cannotnot be misused and be part of the marketing gimmick. Children took pledge to hold Baccho ki adalat until all their questions are answered so that they can save the future of kids who are the future of tomorrow.

The incident we witnessed in the past five days reminded us of the freedom struggle. Anna Hazare the Gandhi of modern era showed what we have listen or read in the history itself. The whole nation stood behind him and showed there anguish against the corruption which has become a phenomenon and eating up our country day by day. The so called privileged and powerful people has made mockery of the whole system and misusing there position just to fulfill there unending lust for money on the cost of poor and underprivileged as if they have got the license to loot the public money.We fought the British for swaraj so that we can make our own policy and decide our fate so that we all can be get rid of poverty, illiteracy and lead a decent life free of fear and partiality. But this vision of our ancestral who won freedom for us by giving sacrifice of there everything so that the new generation can see the world which were a distant dream for them.But the biggest question is have we accomplished our goals what we have planned before the independence. The answer is a big ‘NO’ since nearly 70% of the people in at present are leading life below the poverty line. There basic achievement and challenge is to earn the bread to prevent them from starving. The main cause of this condition is the corruption which is choking down the plans and funds for there upliftment and loot of the money by the so called politician and official to satisfy there unending lust. We are in anger and try to demolish this system but a campaign and awareness is lacking. Now comes Anna Hazare the modern Gandhi with a strong resolution to fight this evil and people supported him like any thing and showed there concern and anguish on this issue.The weapon he chose was the old and tested by our Bapu itself , the way of constructive protest like community fast and it had the miraculous impact even in this violent and weapon era.They people on the fast made the politician literary run from the arena at the Jantar- Mantar who wanted to take the unwanted political mileage of this issue showed that the commoner no longer have any faith left in them and at what extent we hate them. The one thing which emerges victorious is the sensible youth who wants to change the rotten system.We at the students oxygen movement firmly believe and practicing the nonviolent and constructive way of protest. We are fighting against Asiksha and kushiksha as well. The present education system as well as our society is not encouraging people to lead honest life. Everything is commercialized and a child is witnessing it since his childhood. He developed a common notion that he has to simply earn money since it can only give him happiness and prestige in life. But this has reiterated our belief in consistent and constructive way of protest.

Each child is special and has got some inherent quality within him since birth. But it can only take shape if we take proper care of them and let them groom to there fullest capacity.The motive of Students Oxygen Movement is make education the biggest issue. Because we firmly believe that education in its true form can alone solve majority of the problems which can't be dealt independently.Today was the scholarship day. We have a very creative activity in which students are ask to make greeting cards provided to them by painting on them with there imagination to enhance there creativity in return we try to encourage there art by giving them the scholarship money which they utilize for there educational purpose. By this is a child learn to take a small step towards self reliance, to become independent, to be more creative and to give value to hard earned money. This is a small activity which inspires us to be creative and enhance our skills rather than confining to the books alone.Students were assembled to get there rewards of there hard and noble work and also to celebrate India's Victory in the World Cup. Mrs. Anita Singh the principal of the Krishna Niketan School graced the occasion with her presence as a chief guest.Students were thrilled to get there scholarship cheque from her. It was a memorable day in their life. She stressed the importance of right education for our well being and the society. She advised students to realize there dreams and to think and dream big. She cautioned the parents not to put undue pressure on there wards and let them give them the space so that they can grow and do whatever they are best at. There are lots of thing apart from studies alone. Children shared the valuable experience of her and benefitted from it.The discussion was also conducted on this occasion. Students were uni-vocal that due to prejudices prevalent in our society they are not able to choose there career in the area of there interest. There dream also are not cared and nurtured to turn into a reality. The orthodox thinking of the parents society and even school compel them to do which they are not best at. This creates frustration in there future if they fail in these activities and become a mediocre performer.

It teaches us not to make mistakes, but to learn from our mistakes, not to fall, but to rise after every fall, not to sleep, but miles to go before one sleeps, not just shine, but to rise and shine, not just grow, but to learn, play and grow and not just survive but to live life the fullest. From the day we are born, the process of growing, learning and testing starts, which is undertaken by the greatest teacher and also the greatest examiner- life itself. What life as a teacher most importantly teaches us is living and not merely surviving; what it tests is our art of living.But, what is life? It is us, our surroundings, nature, family, friends, school, society and every thing and person, big and small, which we experience through out our journey as a human. Life encompasses all spheres of our being, and our interactions with the world is where it throws at us at every step a challenge to accept, a lesson to learn and a test to take. But what if the institutions of life are defunct? And what if all the more, they do not exist? What then? Simple answer for this is that life will not be as it ought to be, in either conditions and that means we won't be living but merely surviving. We do not easily try to accept others views or even give a damn to it until and unless it is favorable to us.We often loose our temper and don’t even try to listen to our mistakes which we might have done knowing or unknowingly. These things are taking us away from the golden opportunity of rectifying our mistakes. We often make mistakes in our social and professional life because it’s human to err. A sensible person listens to his criticism peacefully and without losing his cool. This provides him the opportunity to mend his ways from the wrong path and prevent him from misdeeds.It’s a very old and golden view that people who can accept his criticism is the true winner in this world and has the potential to achieve his desired goal. Goswami Tulsidas in his Ram Charitramanas has advised to keep in touch with your criticizer. A true criticizer is more worthy than a friend who don’t even bother to caution you whenever you are wrong. We all want to create our own identification. We are unique in biological sense but we long for identity in social arena. We want to create a niche for ourselves so that we can lead a fearful and independent life. A niche is carved not only in economical front but also in decision making which is necessary in future life. This make us confident, feel worthy and give sense of pride.
Education is the most vital thing apart from requisite for survival of a child. He can enrich his life by getting right education which will empower him to be independent.
We misunderstand identification with only wealth accumulation which is the common notion to be popular and win prestige among masses. Today we are blindly aping western people from their life style to culture in our lives and feel proud of ourselves. This concept is not acceptable in our prestigious culture. We prefer lavish life over simple life and think this is the only ambition in life. We are living in a commercial and market world. Our media like films and television too are propagating this consumerism and playing active and supportive role in this market propaganda.
This has eluded us from our own identity and this is going to be harmful in due course for our prestigious culture and heritage.
We are forced to live in micro family nowadays. Child is no more friends with their Grand parents their place has been taken by television and internet. Now they don't listen to the moral stories which have once been our tradition and part of value education for the young ones.
This is taking away our new generation from our old and best heritage which gave us recognition and made the greatest civilization. If thing are not going to change we once again will have to be the slave (mentally) of the foreign ideology and will loose our own identity which made us appreciated and acclaimed worldwide.
If we will not able to pass the tradition to the younger generation slowly it is going to be vanished. Then everything thing will be the part of the history. If things are favorable and according to our wish we thanks our fortune and luck but we don't leave any opportunity to curse it if things are not according to our expectation. It's a very old and famous saying that fortune favors the brave. Our luck helps us if we do things honestly. Or in simple words we can say that our fortune is the opposite reaction or reflection of our deeds alone. It is very well defined by Lord Krishna in his preaching of 'Geeta.' We reap what we sow is the ultimate truth of life.
The true education recommends us that we must rely on our deeds instead of fortune alone. Our efforts are our sole responsibility which is within our control. We cannot predict the outcome but God is kind enough to give according to your work and dedication.
We adopt lots of bad habits just for mere lust of power and money and to satisfy our greed. We loose our vision and lessons taught to us and become slaves of our desires. Instead of short interest we must focus on the long term profit and in the larger interest which include people around us and society as a whole.
There are numerous topper every year which come out of the institutions like schools, colleges and various other institutes. We proudly display their names on the boards and in newspapers. Have the institution ever tried to find out what these toppers have done for society apart from their professional interest? They will be ashamed if they micro inspects their work even in their professional life which will be full of unethical and corrupt practices.
This will be enough to erase their names from their institution boards. This is not who are illiterate are more dangerous for the society it is the so called elite and educated people on the higher post are doing more harm to the society by misusing their post for their personal gain. They have forgotten all their lessons and ethics told to them at school. But they have to remember that one day they will have to pay for their deeds in this very life.

There must not be the system which ensures these facilities to the people who can afford or buy to avail these facilities. But things are claimed to be changing with the new development in the political and social arena. The condition are favorablel for people to do their business in the new improved Law and order condition. People too are attracted towards this beautiful place of Buddha and Mahavira. The glory of this place has to be brought back and this can be made possible only by us. This could be made possible with the improve condition of our education system. Knowledge is the power within itself. It provides us the new definition to our life. Bihar is still lagging in educational front.. The quality of education is also under the consideration and not up to the standard compared with the other States. Although the potential and talent of Bihari people are always considered to be the best and they have brought laurels for us within the country and abroad in many fields. But this number is too little and has to be increase in times to come and this could be made possible by improving the educational scenario of our State. Government is also trying to make education available to all and remove the obstacles in the way towards accomplishment of this goal.Education alone can ensure the development of the people. It is not only important for upliftment of our state but also for its sustained pursuits towards growth and development. It will be more beneficial for us if we ride on the chariot of development with the armor of education. People equipped with right education will be more productive in realizing our dreams and also maintaining the pace of growth.This can be started from our schools. Mere enrollment is not going to serve the purpose. We have to retain the child in the school and we have to train them in such way that they will become more responsible and aware citizens. Education is a boon for any society. It is necessary for personal as well as professional development. India still is lacking behind in these objectives. Government as well as private machinery both are trying to make our child literate. In spite of all these efforts we are still lacking in both quality as well as quantity in education. This is so because the efforts and policy are not in favor of child i.e they are not child centric in nature.We often blame the private institution for the commercializations of education imparting process. Now providing education is considered as a noble business. But have we ever thought what are the reasons for this commercialization? Still majority of our children are dependent on our Government machinery of providing education. The private institute are mostly in urban and semi urban areas where people can afford expensive education provided by them. Our Govt. Machinery are not performing up to their potential and in fulfillment of their responsibilities. People have lost their faith in them which is a matter of concern for all of us and introspection for those who are attached with it. No doubt the private institution have the greener pasture to book more profit on the name of quality education. Most of them make policy to have more profit rather than their aim to impart quality education at affordable and reasonable prices. Govt to try to impose certain rules on them and control over them which are obviously disliked and opposed by them. Most of the private school do not pay good salary to their teachers and provide low infrastructure to their students. Underpaid teachers are unwillingly forced to take private tuition to meet their expenses and basic needs.On the contrary the Govt teachers are getting all the benefits for this work but they are not performing up to their expectation. This is so because our children are not the whole center of beneficiary. We have decided the budget of RS.3 for the Mid Day Meal program which seems to be unrealistic. Will the policy maker will give the same amount to their wards to have their lunch? All this discrepancies happens because we do not think of Children First before making our policy or plan. we have certain hidden interest which shadows or dilute our efforts of attaining sarv siksha abhiyan. Mere enrollment to school is not going to help the situation either it has to be rich and beneficial to all.

Character like Gandhi is easy to speak but difficult to live. He was a person who thought, acted and lived for the betterment of other people in fact he considered his life to be the part of others and acted accordingly. This feeling was not developed in a single day . He too was a normal individual with the thinking like others to be selfish and live and serve only himself. But certain incidents transformed his thinking and the motive of his life. He started finding reasons for apathy of common man and self assigned the task to serve and bring changes in their lives. The mammoth task was to get the freedom so that our own system could be made and good governance should be ensured for the Indians. His reason for success was very evident that he believed in doing what he said. He advocated non-violence constructive protest and truth in his real life. Although he lead a very simple life but his works and words had such a huge impact on the masses that gave him the title of Mahatma. Even though he never wanted his appraisal and he didn’t had any hidden ambition or personal lust. People loose importance when they just think and act for themselves. Although we all have some personal desire and ambition but it must be directed in the larger interest. This larger interest cannot be developed if we have selfish attitude. We have seen numerous leaders who got the inspiration from Gandhi but they could not got the same kind of affection because somewhere they had there hidden personal goal and they were not fully devoted towards the society.The famous bhajan and the personal favorite of Bapu’Vaishnav jan ko teni kahiye re jo pir parayi jane re’ summarizes our motives, work and way of life which is selfless service of the humanity. It has to be full of self respect for the others and serving them without lust, greed or hidden desire. If we follow a simple lifestyle which incorporates honesty and welfare this is the only path which can take you to the God and give you peace and satisfaction. The things have changed a lot since has assassination. Many people also criticize his doctrine but the truth will remain unaltered irrespective of time. We can like, criticize Gandhi but we cannot ignore this huge personality. We pay our homage and sincere tribute to this superb soul.

The character of a person is the most important quality which give him name, fame and wealth. We are recognized and respected due to our character which we possess. The building of character is not a single day or short term affair it's a continuous process and can be groomed by the quality of education, social environment and human behavior in which a person lives or get.The three vital ingredients or base on which a human shape its character are, discipline, honesty and labor (activeness). We can analyze these three factor one by one. First important thing is discipline. It’s human nature that we want freedom and do things on our own will and time. If we do not follow discipline then our life will be like a river without any dam which can be disastrous for others and bring numerous harm as it happen in case of flood. But if we control our negative energy by discipline which gives us control over our senses we can be more productive and useful for others just like a river. We can get water for irrigation, generate electricity or store it in case of low rain or drought.The second important thing is honesty. Honesty is not only the transparency in money matter but it should be present in our work and attitude. The success which we have through dishonest means is short term and not permanent it can give us instant satisfaction but in long term it becomes the major reason of dissatisfaction and distress. We start wealth, love and affection in short we lose many things. On the contrary honesty may bring dissatisfaction in early stage but in due course it becomes the main reason of receipt which is positive. Honesty will always remain the best policy irrespective of any time. It make our life promising and beautiful which can give us peace, happiness and satisfaction. We can use this important organ in a more constructive and useful way by grooming it with the right education.The culture, prosperity and chracter of any nation is dependent on the quality of education its citizen possesses. there is no argument that the education system of ancient India was one of the best in all of the civilization till date. Student used to live as family member with his guru till his education got completed. They used to acquire knowledge in every aspects of like be it science, medicine, administration, politics, weapons, yoga, spirituality and moral and ethical values. India is one of the most populous country and its number comes only after the China. According to one estimate we are going to be the number one populous country by 2030AD if our population continue to grow at the same pace. The best resource for any country is its pupil which is abundant in our country. But on the contrary this resource is the most neglected and unutilized in our country.The main reason for this inutility is the illiteracy and poverty which has the symbiotic relation and interdependent on each other. Its sad to know and hear that most of our pupil approx 40% are below the poverty line and approx 70% of our population has per day income of mere RS20 only. We can well imagine the scenario and the standard of living of our majority of the people.The education system also has a poor picture and nothing much to cheer about. About 40% of our children are out of school and majority of the school going children leave their studies before their Matriculation. The Govt. mechanism of schooling are ill performing and not providing quality education to their students. In these situation its difficult to improve the quality of our most valuable resource that is human resources and its utilization for the development of the nation.We have the vision to see our country among the developed and powerful nation. This dream can come into reality if we insure proper training to all its citizen especially the younger by imparting them quality education. Each individual must be considered as an asset for the society since each one of us have some inherent talent present within us. This has to be trapped, enhanced, groomed and raised up to its maximum potential. Until and unless we will not achieve this target we will be considered as a third world country and a poor developing nation.People who are educated are also facing problem in getting suitable employment for them and unemployment is one of the biggest problem in our country. Therefore they feel worthless and get frustrated and sometimes adopt wrong means which is also harmful for our society and the nation. We often use to take the new year resolution in which we concentrate on some particular goal or take oath to come out of our limitations and the bad traits which are present within us.It's the time to recharge our battery and do the planning and their execution to reach our goals. We fail in any work if it is done half heartedly or without proper planning. But its human to do the mistakes same time we have to learn from these mistakes also. The festival of Christmas is celebrated on 25th of December all over the world as a birthday of Jesus Christ. The festival gives the message that love and peace should prevail and flourish in the humanity. The life of Christ was very troublesome and he had to struggle a lot to spread the message of God among the people. He had a tragic end when he was punished and crucified because he wanted to establish the kingdom of God which was against the wishes of the Roman king. But the Christ even prayed for those who were torturing him and wanted to see him dead at the time of his crucification. That’s why he is consider the messiah and the son of the God.There are lot of things to be learned from his life. First of all we must believe in the supreme power that is God and has to believe in his kingdom. No kingdom is greater than him and will perish with the time but one can become immortal if he believes in love and spread it among the fellow ones. Only the deeds are immortal.We must not differentiate among the people as each one is son of God and must be considered equal. We can even win the hearts of our enemy with our love and forgiveness. We should learn to forgive and must be kind towards all the creations of the God. There should not be any room for the violence in the human life. We should learn to live in peace and harmony. Each human body has the spirit of the same God within him. He is always within us and only deep introspection and kind heart is needed to discover him.Today’s Life is full of violence and apathy. Human beings are social animal. We cannot expect to live without taking support from another. We need one another for our existence and support and this is the basis of our social life. We live in a group and are dependent on each other for various reason. Our family is such a smaller group. We live as a team their where each one shares a definite responsibility for the accomplishment of our goals. We automatically start doing our work with the start of the day like a well synchronized and tuned machine.This tuning has to be further extended within the society too. This is a kind of art and requires your social skills. We need our milkman, vegetable sellers, grocers, chemist, doctor, conveyance provider, teachers and many others in our day to day life. They are not our family members but we need them. Let us consider one hypothetical situation in which you have to rush to the hospital immediately and there is no public transport at the road even the ambulance or your own vehicle and also of your neighbors are not available at that particular time We can well understand our situation that only God can save us then. Hence the development of sense of belonging ness and coexistence is necessary so that people are available to come to your help in that situation or even in your normal life when there is no emergency. We start to learn the team spirit at the school itself when we are a part of a class. We learn how to behave with the others and learn about the interdependency and coexistence. These lessons are further utilized in our adulthood when we start to work and support our own family.There are certain important things which has to be always kept in mind that we should be helping in nature and ready to help others in need irrespective of the return from them. We must be open to the new ideas and have respect for the others, even the smaller one must be given their due respect. If we give respect to others the people will start giving us the respect and it will come automatically. We must not be arrogant and do not try to insult others for any reason or basis. The role of school is very important for our grooming. We don’t go to school just to know how to read and write. Nor is it only a means to grab degrees by passing the examination and moving to higher classes, but more.Human beings are said to be civilized social animals. Although our homes give us the protection and first feelings of the school and we start learning things from here itself. It's the school where our actual process of learning and development starts and takes shape.We spend at least 12 valuable years of our lives in schools. In this long span of time we ensure our overall development. The acquisition of character and behavior actually takes place during this period which prepares us to face the harsh reality of the outer world when we come out of school. We learn to develop the team spirit and cooperation by developing school spirit. School spirit can improve a student's commitment to education. This commitment can in turn act as a deterrent to negative behavior, such as dropping out of school. School spirit creates a positive learning environment for both students and teachers. And having a positive learning environment is one of the many things that make going to school so exciting.We learn lots of things at school leaving the difficult syllabus apart. We learn how to mingle, develop friendship and socialize with different people. Most important of all, we come to discover ourselves by developing our mind and soul. We teachers pouring their heart and soul in instilling knowledge and wisdom in us. They solve our query, clear our doubts and make us feel what we are and what we have to become in future course of life.The character of society actually is determined at school itself. A good government must meet up with the expectation of the people. A common man expects a lot from his government by actively participating in the election process. He hopes that the new government will be people friendly which will uplift their social and economical condition.A win-win situation for both people and government will be possible if people are aware about their duties and rights and keep government on toes by frequent questioning and monitoring the development program run for their benefit. Govt too must respond in the same way by providing clean, dedicated and people driven administration leaving no place for the corruption.Students too have lots of expectation from a good government. A people friendly government must ensure quality education for its kids apart from health, food, hygiene, housing and employment.We have lots of problem in our society and its difficult to solve them independently one by one. But surprisingly enough education can be the remedy of all these problems alone. If we ignite the lamp of education within every child which are said to be tomorrow future can improve the situation to unbelievable extent. So the government must not ignore the education in the interest of the nation.The big question which arise is how and who will do this job. Is this the responsibility of the government alone or some other people will have to intervene in this mammoth task.Basically it's the responsibility of all the intellectuals and responsible people of our society. They must continuously demand and do whatever possible from them to accomplish this task. This work cannot be left alone only for the government. We have the power of reasoning and learn new things for betterment and sustained evolvement. The education helps as a boon for us in the development of our mind, spirit and soul. We evolve spread and progress due to our education and desire to explore our surroundings.
Life is not a bed of roses. We have to continuously struggle to sustain ourselves and prove our worth. We get depressed if we do not obtain the desired results. But the best way to cope up this dilemma is the sustained and honest effort in our approach and work. This is the key or gurumantra for success. Never loose hope or feel worthless, always believe in your self learn from your mistakes and do things with new vigor and zeal.

Modern schooling has become a commercial activity. Students go to the school with a single view that they have to become successful in career and earn handsome money. We see lots of public school mushrooming in cities and villages. This is so because the government machinery for education has failed and people do not rely on them. Only few govt. schools are performing but they are insufficient to bridge the gap of quality education. In this commercialized world it is very difficult to look for the values and morality in education. In fact we hardly have concern for these things.This failure is not due to schools only but the values and morality are rapidly being lost from our society itself. We as a father and mother are not inculcating these thing in our kids. We can’t expect our children to be Harishchandra if we often tell lies and make excuses. In simple words we have to be the role model for our kids then only we can expect them to behave accordingly.Even in modern era of commercial world we cannot discard the importance of guru or teachers in our lives. Its not possible to acquire knowledge without a guru. Hence his presence is very essential for oneself. He is the person which make or ruin our life. But a true guru never inculcate wrong ideas or feelings in his shishya.We are celebrating the birthday of Guru Nanakdev jee as guruparv prakashutsava. It's the duty of guru to lead his followers to the light of wisdom from the darkness of ignorance. The human life is priceless and only true knowledge can show us way how to utilize it fully and get maximum out of it. Nanak jee not only spread the message of love and harmony but also demolished the caste system which creates hatred and differentiate between people. For him each one of us are equal and sons of god and must be given equal rights.Now we have schools for rich and poor and the division starts from the very beginning itself. The Children’s Day is celebrated on every 14th of November in memory of our beloved and first Prime Minister of independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. We pay our homage and tribute to this great freedom fighter and the most popular Prime Minister ever. His affection and concern for children were not hidden. He was so fond of children that he always used to put a red rose in his coat in memory of a child which was once gifted to him by a little girl . He believed that children too are like flower buds in our garden and must be taken proper care and nurtured to bloom into a beautiful flower which is full of life, beauty and fragrance. He believed that our country will not be developed if we do not pay proper attention on the development of the children because children are the future of any country and its development is totally dependent on the development of its children. If we provide our child their due rights and let them groom by giving them basic necessities and quality education then there is no doubt that they will bring us glory and make us proud with their wonderful works and achievements. This will enable our country too will be listed among one of the developed and successful nation.But unfortunately this is not true for our motherland. Many children still are not given proper care and attention and are lagging behind with their counterparts. The cases of child labor, child abuse whether physical or mental, child marriage , poverty and are still most common feature within our society. Its very sad and unfortunate reality in the nation of Chacha Nehru. More than half of our children are still out of the school how can we expect our country to do wonders in which its future is ignored and not given even their basic rights. Children’s day is a day of fun and festival and children are busy in lots of activities which are held in their schools. We do not celebrate this occasion at our homes it is celebrated only at school. Our dream is no other than our beloved Prime Minister. We also desired to see every child celebrating children day at their respective schools. We must take pledge on this special occasion that we will be celebrating our next children’s day with those children who are deprived underprivileged and are not going to the school.

Its truly said that education has the divine eyes. Human always strives for happiness. The most common parameter for happiness is the accumulation of wealth. For a small kid getting his favorite toy, clothes or even chocolate my provide happiness but it soon vanishes and we have another object in our priority as a criterion for happiness. The objects might change but this attitude remains as it is as we become older and this continues till we die. The desire of human being is endless and the lust never dies, it changes from on object to another and our pursuit for peace and happiness remains as it is.The question is then how can we enjoy this happiness which seems to be an illusion? The answer is only true education can help us to reach this happiness. Since education goes beyond boundaries and books and liberates our mind it is the only solution to this problem. We often confuse literacy with education but to acquire knowledge we must first achieve literacy. This is the minimum prerequisite in the pursuit of knowledge.We cannot ignore the importance of materialistic needs. But we have to define our own limits as our necessity for and mere accumulation of these goods must not provide us the sense of achievement and pride. People who are truly educated can understand this. There is no end for these lusts and only contentment can salvage us from this lust and ignorance. So for contentment and happiness we must first strive for education. The school has to play an important role in transforming our thoughts and society. It must not be a mere place to make one literate rather they must try to make their children a good human first. Its unfortunate that even lots nearly half of our kids are not getting the education and are out of the schools. The rest half are becoming good professional but looser at the social front. This discrepancy has to be changed in our education system. Deepawali is one of the most popular festival of India. It's a festival of lights. The houses and shops are cleaned painted and decorated to welcome the goddess Lakshmi who is believed to give prosperity and wealth. Children like any other festivals are more enthusiastic for crackers, sweets and fun. But this is not the case in every home. There are many poor people who cannot afford it in proper taste and spirit due to lack of money since they are poor. we feel pity for them but do or care little for their upliftment.The festival of light will be more brighter and we too will enjoy it with more fun if each home will be lighted, decorated and has sweets, crackers and new clothes especially for the young ones. To make this dream into a reality we must do one task i.e we should light the lamp or diya of education in each and every home.This is a huge task because half of our children are out of school. This work can’t be totally left on the shoulders of government alone. This is the responsibility of all the people of society. We must ensure that each child is educated in true sense for or own better future. This is the only solution to many problems like backwardness and poverty.Unfortunately India is considered to be one of the poor country across the globe. Majority of the people are living life below the poverty line and hence festival of Diwali has little meaning for them. The misery and apathy has become their lifelong fate and people here struggle just to earn hard fought square meals for their survival.We are into the election for assembly to form our new government. There are lots of political parties and their candidates contesting the election with the promise to change our destiny form backwardness and misery to success and development. Their promises are numerous but we all know the reality. Even though we vote with the positive attribute with the hope that new government will change our lives. The scene unfortunately remains the same.Many governments had come and gone after Independence but the condition of our state hardly improved.Development is still an illusion to us. We are into miserable condition whether it may be education, health & hygiene, employment, industry, roads, electricity, water, sanitation, law & order or even civic sense. The apathy is countless. The faces of leaders changed but the condition hasn't improved compared to other states of India. Development although very failed to reach at the grass root level. The main reason of our backwardness is the lack of proper education system in our state. We do not value and utilize our franchise and waste rights to vote on the name of caste and religious politics which was badly utilized by the selfish and corrupt politician for their own benefits. The corruption at every level and rate of crime and entry and patronization of criminals to the politics added to the misery.The situation can be improved if all of us should unite and vote for our better future. We can get power only through proper education and can develop the gusts to fight corruption and start questioning the political and bureaucracy system. We do celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on every 2nd October but we hardly follow his ideology in our life. For generation X it might be an outdated concept in this materialistic world but if we deeply give his words a thought we will certainly realize that the character like him is the need of the hour. Today we want to be financial successful at any cost. Every thing in life has become a commodity be it education our marriage and even happiness within our lives we can't do without money. It is the only motivating factor in our life. Apart from this if we get time we think of our family, friends and then society. We have become so self centric that expecting good from anyone is rare. Character and morality has no meanings in our daily life and even school seems to be less bother about these things. They are not interested in inculcating these things in young minds. No doubt we are so indifferent towards each other. Does the society should wait and think where this cat race is going to take us? It is making us an individual without values. Not very far away in Indian history there was a person whom we today remember as Mahatma Gandhi the father of our nation. He taught us about the simplicity and ideology which suits an Indian. Can we afford to show the wealth for shallow status when more than 60% of our population earns Rs.20 per day which can hardly be the cost of one square meal. We have to think again before indulging into the collection of materialistic war as the only thing in life even if it comes through unfair means. Our Politician should also take a lesson from him that only post and position is not mandatory for serving the people but how many of them are here to serve masses? They are into the bull fight just to become a bully. The politics today seems to have no ideology they divide us on religion, caste, land and language just for their selfish goals. The half of the population which is women are still oppressed and deprived of their social rights and prestige compared to their male counterpart. The festive season is coming and Navratra are on the cards soon. We worship goddess Durga as the ultimate source of energy (power) and the creator of the whole universe. But ironically we do lots of injustice with the girls' within the same society. Their birth of a girl child is attributed with the sin or punishment and parents consider their daughters as a result of their sins. The whole mind set of the society has to be reformed because if we ignore the rights and fails to give the proper place to the girl child the society will not progress to the extent which we wants. The main cause of worry is the demon called dowry, the system prevalent in our society. This is the main concern and a parent start worrying for the marriage of their daughters soon after their birth. They don't even pay much attention for their education which is the only tool for ensuring their rights and social prestige. Now education has become expensive and the money has to be saved for their marriage is the common reply of the parents. The situation can improve if the fear of dowry demon can be removed. This is only possible by sensitizing the masses and by empowering the women by education. A girl child is as capable and talented compared to the boys if they can be given proper chance to groom and improving their skills. Then we can feel proud of them also. They have proven this many times whether it's the board examination or any prestigious competition in the recent time. There are many glorious story about them in our past also. The only thing is we should give them their due chance.

Education without Moral and Human Values is Meaningless

Today we have lots of subjects to study in our curriculum but there are very few which are imparting moral values within us. We are not giving stress in our character building process. Not surprising enough we see the loss of the traditional values from our lives which was part of our ancient heritage and was something which made all of us feel proud of our culture and society. In our ancient time we used to consider guest as our god 'Atithi Devo Bhava.” But now with the change in society we have new stories in our curriculum “Atithi tum Kab Jaoge?'' meaning Guest when will you leave now we cannot tolerate you. What kind of value system we are inculcating among our children by these lessons is a matter of deep concern? This is not due to rising prices but due to the fact we are becoming self centric and selfish person. We hardly have time for others and we don't give a damn to them. This attitude will become more widespread if we have to study this kind of lessons in our school. Now how many of our children are staying with their Grand parents? We can easily do the survey. Now parents after the marriage are considered as guests to our house and not surprising enough we expect them to leave at the earliest. Because our daily routine is disrupted and we cannot afford to “waste “ our valuable time looking after them? These are the glimpses of our values system at present. If we don't know who were Eklavya or Aruni definitely we can't improve the things. Education must inculcate strong moral and cultural values in the child to make them good human beings prior to anything which they will become in their future. If we are deprived of these values we are no lesser than animals unfortunately born as human.

Most of the students are having anxiety problem regarding their results in examination. Thanks to Mr. Kapil Sibal that they will be provided with the grades making the situation little easier but even though the numbering of A+ grade will be considered the most. In short our whole examination system is basically based on mugging up and it doesn't assess our actual or real ability. There are many ill effects due to this inappropriate examination system.Recently the Infosys chairman N.R. Narayana Murthy gave advice to the children that they should focus on learning rather than just concentrating on their examination and results.In fact the bookish knowledge and the whole examination process has made us incapable and we are failing to bring the necessary changes within our society. We have plenty of subjects in our school curriculum but we hardly gain any practical knowledge which will benefit us in our coming future.You take the mock test of a candidate and just ask him what questions he got and the answers he has written for those questions. He will not be able to explain properly. He will forget the content once the show is over. Our whole concentration is to obtain good marks and clear the exam.But the result of these examinations is not taking us to pass the examination of our lives. Most of us struggle to utilize the knowledge we have got in our schools. The increasing rate of unemployed educated youth is the proof of this. If we would have given priority to learning over exams the things could have been different.The situation can improve if we go to the school regularly. A student must always be curious and desirous to learn. He must listen to the teacher with full concentration and try to implement them in his life. Surely his ability and skill will improve. The suggestion of Mr. Narayana Murthy is very relevant in today's era. Since many youth are jobless and frustrated, if they have skills in them definitely their will be lots of job offer for them.Education not only enlightens our spirits but also enhance our skills. This intermediate step of monetary transaction should not pose an obstacle or a complete barrier in a child’s Schooling, as it is only education that moulds the most evolved species into real human beings.
It is the responsibility of the society (from which also comes the government) to provide schooling to every child for his overall growth by managing the running costs of the School’s infrastructure; and rightly so, because a child does not only belong to his parents, he belongs to the whole society and whatever he does affects the society.
This is not being uniformly practiced and many children do not go to School. That money does not become an issue in the process of Education, our Movement initiates “Students’ Oxygen Movement Fees Fund.” The Students’ Oxygen Movement Fees Fund is a voluntary fund, to be managed by the society. This fund seeks to provide an aid to the students who are in need of financial help in order to pay their fees.
A student can take help from the Fees Fund-
(1) A student can borrow a maximum of Rupees 2500 at a time.
(2) The student needs to produce a recommendation letter carrying the Principal’s consent, signature and the School stamp to be eligible to draw money from the Fund.
(3) The student should return the money conveniently, as soon as possible.
(Flexibility can be expected from the Fund Management if there are some urgent issues with the child.)
Participation of the People-
(1)People can sponsor money to the fund in multiples of Rupees 2500.
(2)They can deposit money in the fund for the use of students (in multiples of Rs. 2500). The management needs to be informed three months in advance when the money has to be withdrawn.
Let us take a step towards beautifying and adding quality to the lives of the children. Let us fulfill our responsibilities towards the society and be proud stakeholders in the formation of human beings, setting an example in front of the children, the future system makers so that they contribute their share to the society as good human beings, making this place a better one to live in.

We are not very clear in our approach towards 100 percent literacy

The reason and aspects of education differ from people to people. In India after the 63 years of Independence more than 40% of our children still don't have proper school hence they are illiterate. The rest 60% are literate but out of these how many have completed 12 years of schooling or how many went to colleges or had vocational training we don't have accurate data to clear the situation. Ironically 40 millions of these literates are jobless out of these 12% are Graduates or Post graduates. This is a grim picture of our education system after Independence.
The meaning of education too is different for all and depends upon our social and mental set-ups. To some education is everything and life is meaningless without it. For others it is just a medium which make them able to grab a decent job which is more economically productive or a tool for employment. The quality of education given at schools is questionable too.
It seems from our efforts since Independence that we are not very serious in our approach to educate our children otherwise the figures would have been more encouraging and something to be boost upon. Our effort particularly of Govt. seems to be a skin saving one. This is so because the picture in front of us is not very and we don't have proper mechanism to ensure 100% literacy. We often confuse literacy with education. Our training system today is making literates only who just wants to make money at any cost. We have plenty of toppers from our system but we hardly find a few who are really doing commendable works. Because we want to see our students as a money making machine only. Now education has become a commodity because education provider themselves consider this process as a business and their institution a profit booking center. Therefore we can't imagine of quality and true meaning of education which takes you closure to the GOD. How many of us actually wants to reach to the God today?

Development without compromising with the nature

India has witnessed rapid population growth since its Independence. The urbanization has taken fast acceleration since most of the population migrated towards town in search of better occupational opportunities and farming the vital occupation of India has become less lucrative. In cities we require lots of civic amenities like buildings, markets, hospitals, schools & colleges, roads, railways, airports and many more which facilitates our life. The growth comes with certain costs and ill-effects also. The most sufferers being the trees because its them which are chopped for making roads, bridges, tracks, buildings and even airports. Since development is necessary and demand of the time but we cannot afford to loose our greenery. We are already facing problem like global warming and temperature has increased due to harmful gases released in the atmosphere factories and vehicles adds to our problems. Trees only came to our rescue with a shy of relief. It not only reduces pollution but also releases Oxygen without that we cannot survive. Apart from keeping our climate cool and helping in rainfall it also prevent soil erosion and retains water within the soil. The importance of trees are manifolds. In short we can't imagine our lives without trees. Recently the Bihar Government has decided to chop down 3700 trees around Patna airport to ensure safe landing and takeoffs of the aircraft. The best alternative is the shifting of airport to the new feasible location where its capacity can also be increased and the present one must be left for smaller and private aircrafts.We understand that development is also necessary but as a civilized and educated society we cannot loose our best friend i.e trees.

We want freedom from hunger as well as illiteracy

We celebrated our 64th Independence day with great enthusiasm and zeal. This is our national festival and the reason for celebrating this is special too because we got this much awaited independence after century of freedom struggle and innumerous sacrifices. The day begins with the hoisting the national flag at historical Red Fort by the Prime Minister of our nation. The tricolor is hoisted at all the prominent places, schools-colleges, Institutions and all over the India. Our heart fills with joy and pride when we listen to patriotic songs being played all nook and corner of the town and villages. We pay our tribute to our freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve only one goal i.e getting our country free from the British. We garland the statue of ‘Bharat Mata’ the idol of mother nation and give slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ on this occasion also. This is true that we have done commendable progress since India became free in many areas. But our heart sunk when we think of hunger and illiteracy prevailing in our country. Many poor are still deprived of their square meals and have to sleep with insufficient or no food. This scenario could have improved if proper education has been given to them too. It's sad that even after 63 years of Independence about 40 percent of the child of India is out of school. And what quality of education the rest are getting is also questionable. We still see corruption being the one of the main reason for India's poor performance in overall development. The cases of dowry deaths, caste system, killing of child fetus, regionalism, racist thoughts are still prevalent and prominent. This shows that after completing our education we are landing up just being a literate rather than educated person. This shows that there is some fault in our training system and it's the responsibility of all the people of the society to fight against this ‘Asiksha’ as well as ‘Kusiksha’. Then only our society will be a better place to live in and praising slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’ could make sense.

Today we have lost the true meaning of education. The four pillars which comprises the education system are parents, teachers, society and the student himself. The present system is more oriented towards bookish knowledge rather than the value and evolvement of mind and soul as the real meaning of education. And the main aim is financial success rather than happy content life. Our society, family and system also encourages and pressurizes our students to become a money making machine directly or indirectly. This attitude results in plenty of ill effects which is reflected within our society. We are becoming more and more self-centered ultimately a true selfish person who is least bothered about social concern and responsibilities causing indifference and low human values. The lust and greed for money has become the priority of life and getting money to lead a lavish life. Practicing of corrupt means has become a common phenomenon leading to increased corruption in our day to day life. Even the sense of responsibility and self esteem has taken a backseat in our unending greed the money just to pose as rich within the society. But we don’t realize that on what and whom cost we are getting these money? We utilize our power and position to grab the public money which is meant for their need and development. We even digest money which has to be utilized for country development. Does we get education only for this purpose only? This question has to be answered sooner or later otherwise it will be free for all and a condition of anarchy will emerge in the country. There are three main things in the education. First is the knowledge about your soul, then yourself and ultimately to know about God. The end product of education is inculcating character and responsibility within a man. We must learn to enjoy scarcity over richness if it comes after killing our character and soul.

Friendship of Krishna and Sudama bridges the rift between rich and poor

Celebration of friendship day may be a western concept but Indian history is flooded with stories about friendship and the qualities of true fiends. One such story which instantly comes to our mind is of Krishna and Sudama. This story does not only touches our emotions but also teaches us a lot of lessons to be implemented in our lives. First is the economic barrier as we become older the concern about social well being and financial status are reflected in our behavior. This could be intentional or might be un- intentional too. We start discriminating poor if we are financially sound enough. This is the root cause of hatred and discrimination among us and is ultimately reflected within our society. There are fewer rich but most are underprivileged in our country hence the example of Krishnsa and Sudama friendship is more relevant. The story gives us the clear message that no one is either rich or poor in friendship the friends are just friends and friendship is forever. If we extend this quality among our society definitely the concern and care for each other will be on the driving seat and we can break the economic barrier which is the cause of hatred among us. We must be eager to help our friends and there is no place of egoism and selfishness between true friends. India has given the doctrine of “Bashudehva Kutumbukam” meaning the whole world is a huge family. We never invaded any country just to impose our power or for mere lust. Although our history has witnessed many invasions since time immemorial. But these invaders loved our culture so much that they finally mingled and lost their individuality and a homogeneous mixture of Indian culture emerged as if we were the ocean and invaders like rivers which lost their identity when coming in contact with us. This is only possible because we love and respect even the strangers which after coming to this divine land become a part of this huge family.

Guru - the person who enlightens our mind and soul

The mother is considered to be the first guru of a child. She teaches him the first lesson of life which is mainly focused on to cope with it. But it is the teacher or guru who imparts knowledge and wisdom to the child and charges his spirits. In India we have many occasions in which we feel obliged and pay our gratitude. Guru Purnima is one such occasion in which we thanks and feel proud of our teachers and pay them respect. Because its him who taught us to lead our life and how to get maximum out of it. In ancient times the meaning of education was mostly spiritual and it was considered to be the path which can lead you to reach god which was the ultimate goal of life. But the situation has changed completely in this modern era, so called 'kalyuga'. Now teaching is just another profession and students are considered customers whose need has to be taken care of. Schools are more concerned in making profits and education has become a commodity which can be purchased with the money. The ultimate goal is to make ourselves more professionally successful after completing the education. The so called valued relation has deteriorated and the special bonding between teacher and students is no longer observed. We should not get disheartened by present situation. Even today the teachers are the only person responsible for our knowledge. We must shed all our egos and surrender ourselves before him if we want to get true knowledge. The regards and respect should not diminish for our teachers and the real tribute for them will be only if we use our knowledge to serve the community.

Imparting education can’t be taken for granted

Teaching is not just another work or profession only to earn your livelihood. It’s a devotion and the schools are the temple of knowledge and the teachers are its devotees. It's a selfless service for the community to make our youngster educated in result making our society a better place to live in. A society which adores not just other human beings but also values living and non-living things in surrounding which is important for our survival. If we continue playing with child’s future for the sake of giving them education which is improper and low in quality by appointing those people who either don’t have flair or fire to educate them it will have lots of ill effect in the coming generation. Unfortunately our Government seems to be doing so. They are appointing people for this work just on the basis of their marks or Degrees which are found to be either manipulated or a fake one in majority of the cases. How come these people who are doing immoral acts for getting jobs give moral values to kids is itself a big question. Can we afford to do so because these teachers ultimately has the role to shape our country future by giving our child good education. We will be living in the fool’s paradise if we expect these teachers will do justice to their teaching profession. Its our sincere request not to malign this social service by giving reins to those are not meant for this. Teacher have high regards in our society so lets not de glorify this profession. Can we afford to appoints doctors who are not properly trained and send them to the remotest areas and expect that the health of villagers will improve, the fate of the people can well be imagined. So this act has to be given thought before implementing.

Schools and Teachers are meant for Studies only

It's a very old habit of engaging Govt. school teachers into various activities like Census, voting (election), health programmes etc. This shows the little concern of the govt. towards education which should be otherwise given utmost priority. But unfortunately this doesn’t happen in India. That’s why its not surprising that we are in so pathetic conditions when it comes to education. The academic calender is already short in schools and we are running short of teachers also. If we’ll engage them into others activities than how the syllabus will be completed? The students will not have other option apart from taking private tuition. This will be extra financial burden on their parents. Even the school premises are used either as a rest house for police and para-millitary forces. It is also used for various election related activities. More even it also serves as a place for marriage ceremony and reception hall. All these thing shows how much serious we are towards education. Because it's the children who are the main sufferers. But who will be held accountable for these things? Teachers who are not interested are also forced into these activities on failing their wages are cut or even withheld. This is the reward we are giving to the teachers who helps in the shaping of country’s future. These things will have to be stopped as soon as possible. And all the good people has the responsibility to raise their voice against it.

Dream School 2010

Dream school- not just a distant dream but a dream which we all want to become a reality; a school that beckons all to a world of knowledge and wisdom; A school that will not be for the rich or the poor, the high or the low but for children, where they will grow equally and will be educated equally. We have always dreamt of this school and now we are here to express it through a Creative Vision- Dream School.The day was 7th of May, 2010 the venue was BhartiyaNritya Kala Mandir and the occasion was Dream School 2010.Students from different schools of Patna including Govt. and Public Schools like Notre Dame Academy, Loyola High School, DAV, Gyan Niketan, K B Sahay, and Miller High School participated in the third edition of Dream School. The enthusiasm was clearly visible among the students as they started thronging the venue almost an hour before the workshop started. The preparation for the main event had started way back in march with the coordinators Akanksha Pandey, Prachi Pandey and Parma Singh visiting schools in the first phase and meeting the head of various Institutions. The students prepared a project on their “Dream School” along with an audio-visual CD with the speech of the team members. The Projects had such uniqueness, such different ways for the achievement of our common goal that it proved a difficult job for the panelists to choose the better among the best. The Panel included Mr. Binod Singh, the Convener of Students' Oxygen movement, Miss Aprajita Singh, a socially active and responsible member of the movement and Akanksha Pandey, one of the coordinators for this year's Dream School Workshop.The event started with Akanksha coming onstage and welcoming the students, teachers and everyone present to the workshop with a brief overview of different activities undertaken by students' oxygen movement and an introduction on the concept of Dream School. The stage was then taken over by Parma and Prachi who carried on through the proceedings beautifully. Parma talked about the importance of education, the importance of our dream of an ideal school and the need to realize our dream school.Prachi threw light on the importance of teachers as they are the foundation stone of our dream school and invited them to invoke God's blessings by lighting the lamp and inaugurating the workshop.Shashwat and Bhavya, the youngest members of oxygen presented the teachers with floral bouquets to the teachers as a token of our love, gratitude and reverence. The programme was inaugurated by the teachers by lighting the lamp invoking God's blessings on all of us. The first round was priority listing where all the students present were asked to list 10 distinct features of their Dream School according to their priority within 5 minutes.On the basis of projects, the CD's and the priority list 25 teams were selected who came on to the stage in groups of 5 and gave a brief introduction of their Dream School. They also faced questions from the panelists. After this grueling session the audience had a gala time with two students from DAV BSEB, Rahul Bhardwaj and Prateek performing on stage. The audience cheered for inspirational songs like “Insaaf ki Dagar pe” which have long been forgotten but are more relevant today and still stress on the need of the hour. Songs like Aashayen related the children to the present condition and the hopes of the society from them.
After the priority list round, the top 10 were announced with the audience cheering loudly. But it was a tough time for the panelists as around fifteen teams were deserving enough to be in the top 10.The top ten teams faced questions from the audience and the other teams. And the teams which put forward the best ideas with utmost conviction advanced towards the top three spots. The questions that the top three teams faced were from teachers of different schools. And on the basis of their answers they were ranked 1st,2nd, and 3rd. Meanwhile, the audience also got to enjoy a magic show by a young magician Rakesh Roshan of Sir G. D. Patliputra High School. Although the whole programme stretched for more than four hours, the audience and cheer groups never seemed low on energy with each good answer getting a big round of applause.The programme ended with teachers and students being felicitated and teachers expressing their gratitude as well as asking for a similar workshop for them too. Mrs. Bhawna Shekhar, Hindi Teacher from Notre Dame Academy also narrated a poem written by her especially for the occasion. The Vote For Kids March to be held in October was announced by Parma along with the vote of thanks and the handling of responsibilities to the newly chosen 20 Dream Leaders to take this movement forward.

Let us make education the biggest issue

We are living in a society without foundation today. A foundation which will enable the structures built today stand strong tomorrow. And when the foundation itself is weak can we expect the structures to stand tall? Can we expect a future without a present? The answer is no. Innumerable people talk of the fate of doomed students who are not getting proper guidance, the much needed changes to empower the students to be able to decide what they need but these are mere hollow talks which have not taken anyone anywhere. We need a mass movement, a revolution if we really want to do something for the students. And it is for this purpose that we have started the Creative Vision Dream School Campaign. Education and true education only can be that foundation which will give children the strength and the ability to achieve what they dream of. The Dream School campaign is going to give that much required opportunity to the students, to voice their concerns and their opinions about the ills of this foundation which is failing to give them the support for a brighter future. Through this unique initiative, we have tried and are trying again and again to create awareness among the masses that schools without proper teachers, a large number of schools that are absent from the system and a huge chunk young population which does not even have access to the basic primary education, is not something that the future of this nation deserves. The rich history and the even richer cultural and literary heritage stands falsified if they fail or they are not utilised to provide concrete present to the society in the form of intellectually rich human capital. It is only through education and by utilising it that we can do more constructive work in more fields to serve more people. True education which enriches one not only academically but also morally and spiritually will eventually guide all of us on the right path where it will no more be a question of me and I but us. This feeling of oneness mingled with the spirit and passion to provide a sound educational base to our children can never fail to give a foundation to our children which we all so desperately need.

Dream School 2010

With deep breathing comes long life but it is only with education that we lead a quality life as it enables us to know the purpose of our lives and work towards its achievement. After air, food and water, the basic requirements for sustenance, comes education, the only thing which separates us from the rest of the crowd and empowers us to work and change the society for the better through our efforts. We kids dare to dream and so we have the power to realize our dream that is to have a school which will give us all that we aspire for in contrast to the existing schools which compel us to be a part of the rat race and not work towards taking more initiatives. So, carrying this dream forward the much awaited third edition of creative vision- dream school campaign was announced in the discussion today- Dream School 2010. For the past two years through Dream school campaign we spread the ideas of our dream school far and wide a school whose sole purpose will be educating and enlightening young minds not only academically but also inculcating a sense of morality in the kids, therefore making the society a closely knit environment for the overall development of young minds. Dream school 2010 starts with students from different schools forming groups of two. These groups will make a project on “My Dream School” and record an audio visual speech on the basis of which students will be invited to the main event at Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir on 7th May, where after a couple of rounds and discussions the best 25 teams will be selected. On the basis of panel discussion, top 10 teams will be finalised, which will face the audience and the panelists. The top 3 groups among the ten will be declared, 1st with a scholarship of Rs. 20,000, 2nd with a scholarship of Rs. 16,000 and 3rd with a scholarship worth Rs. 12,000 respectively. The rest of the 7 teams will be given Rs. 2,000 as scholarship. We hope for the success of Dream School 2010 and thus see the students taking that much coveted step towards making education the biggest issue. If we want a change, we ourselves have to be the change.

Coaching Institutions- A boon or a bane

There has been a rapid rise in the number of tuition centres that are mushrooming in every locality. Coaching institutions are brimming with students seeking extra help in their academics. But rather than just taking a bit of help from these sources, it has become a regular and routine affair. Tuition centres can be compared to medical clinics; just as we go to seek help of doctors when in need. The same way we take help of tuitions at times when we need academic assistance. But is the problem so deep that we have to pay regular visits to these centres or for that matter, a clinic? Surely not. Tuitions are inculcating a habit of cut-throat competition among students and are preparing them merely for money and marks. This is a major obstacle in the growth of kids in schools, the atmosphere of studies and alertness is reducing day by day. The students are taking schools for granted, paying attention only in tuitions. They keep running from one place to another for tuitions and are not able to realize the value of time and time management. The teacher also are more enthusiastic in their coaching classes rather than in schools. All the efficient and teachers have set up their own centres due to the conveniences attached to them. Tuitions shouldn't be established institutions of society; instead, the quality of schooling should be upgraded to discourage the growth of these centres. The government must ensure better pay packages and conveniences for school teachers, well equipped schools and a proportional teacher-student ratio. School is second home for kids and it will continue to be so when the teacher and students stay as a family and hence, the senior students can help their friends in solving the doubts.Due to the development of tuition centres knowledge is taken to be a commercial investment that will pay in forms of highly paid jobs. School is a temple of knowledge where students are instilled with the right values and not just a guest for material needs, as in tuition centres. Its time when we ask ourselves- “Tuitions, a boon as a bane?” and act to get the desired result.

Requesting PM and CM for regular visit to schools

After a long chilly interval, this year's first discussion took place with fresh energy, vigour and ideas and a new hope for realising all our dreams and a striving to achieve more marks in more fields to serve more people.
The much awaited student council was formed today which consist of student coordinators of different schools and colleges. The council took shape to make education the biggest issue and for addressing and raising the burning issues of society by the students.
The students placed their first proposal of regular and unorganized visits of prime minister and chief ministers to schools. The values are instilled in the students and the process of future making begins right from the school, where children learn and catch things that comes their way. The young students should be well connected with the decision makers of the society.
These visits, the students instead, should not be mere formalities, instead, they should be unorganized meetings with the growing kids that creates a shared bond between the young minds and the expressed ones.
Our system makers should reach out to kids and prepare them for the inheritance of responsibilities of the nation in future; to see how they are groomed and the values they receive from schools and around.
The children will take this as a pleasant surprise and will feel secured under the guidance and counselling of caring leaders. The leaders will also feel satisfied after monitoring the growth of the future torch bearers, and if they don't, they will take corrective measures to ensure a good quality of life in society for the individual. The student council members felt that the time and security of the prime Minister and chief ministers is very important but knowing this, they put forth this proposal as the process of nation building is equally important and it will be most yielding when the chain of bonding links all.
The care and affection shown will create a wave in the student community and they will respond with positive outcomes and will strive to achieve what we lack today- a harmonious society.

Little Creation Each Day

The world has undergone a tremendous change through these years. There was once, a time when people were a part of the nature and lived in unison with the forests, the trees, the land and their surroundings. Nature had enough for everyone’s needs. The world witnessed the being of great saints and leaders who even lived to complete 100 years. There was ample time to indulge in art, literature and science. That world saw the creation of Ayurveda, having the power to heal naturally. The magnificent architecture, music, poetry and dance culture had also originated way back in those times. But, today it seems that the world has been put into a fast forward mode. From a balanced and fruitful life we have moved to a life full of worries, 24*7. Due to cut throat competition, the people are sacrificing their leisure time and are joining the rat race to attain worldly pleasures. People are ready to overwork and get exploited if they get heavy pay packets in return. The desire to fulfill all their wants has blurred the real meaning of happiness and fulfillment. Money can buy all the commodities but not the comfort peace or happiness. We are forgetting how to smile at our thoughts, at a joke or a kid smiling back. Small events go unnoticed; there’s no time for family or society. The meanings of refreshment and recreation have changed; it means dining out, a day at the park, the mall or the cinema hall. Discussions and conversations are off the list. There is need for introspection, analysis and action for our family and the society; be it an hour for a talk, a game of cricket for friends, a waste management drive for the environment or an event related to spreading awareness. Let’s donate some time for our own little creations each day. Not that it gives us a return in cash, but something more- it gives us eternal bliss and a wider view of humanity.

At the centre of Non-violence stands the Principle of Love

Non-violence is the instrument for the strong, for the ones who have mastered the art of love, self-control and are pure from within. It is far easy to become violent with the crowd; just a flex of muscles and external energy with negative vibes required. But non-violence requires a lot more than that- the mind, body and soul alike. It is possible to be non-violent only when your inner fight, the fight between mind and heart, logic and feelings and the conscience and the superficial level, is resolved. When one is at friendly terms with one's external and internal system, then only can one move on to the next step, the one that follows non-violence- Love. But it brings us back to the same step before non-violence- Love; as it is a cyclic process. Only when one can love himself can he use the tool of non-violence for the others. The universe exists on the foundation of love' it is omnipresent, just like the unseen, the Almighty. Where there is love, there is the Creator and it's Creations. This can be subdued, buried deep and erased when our love flows everywhere just as there is no place for darkness when there is light. But, today, the opposite is what happens. Hatred increases every moment in the absence of love. We are getting weaker day by day. As we can't experience love, we don't move on to non-violence; no purification of the soul and no self-control. We indulge in violence that follows hatred prevalent in the present times. Non-violence not only eliminates violence but also the violence within. The struggle for success should not accompany hatred as it would only intensify its degree in the world. To cut off this chain, we have to project the ethics of love at the centre of our lives. When there is affection and teamwork in place of cut-throat competition, the results will be fruitful and more rewarding. Let us strive to make a society, an education system and our parenting full of love, so that the future witnesses well groomed humans with a non-violent outlook.

OLD BOOKS CAN BRING REVOLUTION

Holistic state is a condition in which an individual is physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually well. A country can be in holistic state only when its states, finance, management etc. is in good condition, that is, a country with a better literacy rate, employment oriented education system and ample employment opportunity. India is facing numerous problem- illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and deteriorated education system. Until and unless these problems are solved, India can’t achieve the mark of developed country. Each problem can be solved by imparting quality education to the masses. But the question is- Shall we be able to give quality education to the children when education is so expensive and the economic condition is so low? A book is a bag of knowledge but changing the book sets every year with some modification, it is not only costing the pockets of parents but also our state and environment. Lakhs of books are published for each academic session with little modification and parents are forced to buy those books. It means crores of rupees and thousands of trees are going in waste every year. If students are allowed to use old books for at least two years, by receiving from up going students and giving to their followers as gift, we can save crores of rupees as well as teach them a moral lesson. We do the personal problems of students. Problems could be:- a sense of personal belonging may not come, the condition of books can be disturbing, useless pencil/pen marks on them, workbooks can’t be exchanged, modification in content material is excluded and some students may feel a sense of inferiority complex but each problem can be solved if we have to make a better society. Students will have to be little careful, that is, try to use your books as holy books, preserve your books for your followers, mark with pencil if necessary, inculcate a habit of keeping your study material neat and get photo copied all additional topics in your new syllabus. We urge to the educational community to think about it so that it may be implemented soon. We want a educational reform through old books, which is going to save crores of rupees and thousands of trees. Since our aim is to make education the biggest issue, we try to make the people aware about the obstacles in the journey of making education the biggest issue. Ignorance of educational community in this regard has made education a luxary, not a need and book sharing can be one of the most important step in bringing educational reform.

Human beings are the most evolved species on earth. Unlike other living beings, man is mentally advanced and has attained high levels of personal competences in social and spiritual domains. From the Stone Age to this modern, hi-tech era, the needs and aspirations of an individual and of the society as a whole have changed. The present day society should meet the primary standards of living for the people thriving in it. It is the collective responsibility of the government and the people to reach out to others and extend these facilities to all, considering the society as their family. Amidst the hullabaloo of this busy life, we have to ensure that none sleeps with an empty stomach. There has to be a proper Public Distribution system that provides the essential provisional access to everyone. The society can't prosper if its entire people can't avail decent food and clothing. It is said, “A healthy mind rests in a healthy body”, and rightly so, for if a society has to be healthy, there is a need for hospitals and dispensaries that provide an appropriate healthcare system for the people. Irrespective of the economic status of the people, this healthcare provision has to be for everyone. After these needs that help in the well being of a person, there's one more thing that is instrumental in the all round development of an individual- Education. Education provides knowledge and wisdom combined with values that help in the formation of a better society. When our society will have educated people, there will always be a qualitative output from them.

When will we celebrate real children’s day?

Children are the special creation of God. They have an essence of Godliness. They are full of innocence, love and inquisition. Children are pure at heart and they are full of positivity and optimism. They’ll never give up a task till it is complete and learn with their own speed. In a way, the best examples of ideal human beings are children. God has given each one of us a sense of discretion and by using this virtue, they can learn on their own by practical skills. But what is the reason that when the children start getting older turn into selfish human beings? It is the system and the society that is causing this flaw in us. Had they not been touched by this defunct system, they wouldn’t have changed into snobbish beings. The best way to bring up children is to nurture as they are, let their virtues flourish and give them their own space and time to grow. But in today’s world, we don’t just need to grow in a crude manner but polish our skills, virtues and character with the tool called education. We need to experience the miraculous power we have got to feel the presence of God in each one of us. Today’ sadly, the meaning of education, human beings, spirituality has changed. Now, people believe in buying happiness with money and they miss out on the most beautiful and spectacular moments and joys in life. He who has a childlike innocence will be able to enjoy the morning dew or the nature’s view but others who have become scientific robots, far away from Godliness and spirituality are busy minting money with the tool called education, that now teaches how to earn.Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru dreamed of an India in which all children would get their own time, space and education and flourish spiritually. But this dream remains unrealized as many children aren’t able to study and grow and those who study, are not getting the proper environ to prosper.A real Children’s day will be celebrated when their Godliness grows with the help of education. On this Children’s day, and on the birthday of Pandit Nehru, let’s pray for all the children that they keep the childlike spirit and salute the man who helped instill a dream in our minds.

Education is necessary for every individual. It is not a commodity, but it is a system of values, a bundle of knowledge, a form of belief and the key for constructive development. Education opens the eyes of a person to see what is right and what is wrong. A real educated person is one who has a sense of discernment and a strong character. Education forms the foundation of one's life, nurturing him/her with values, spiritual and moral, and along with theoretical knowledge, extra-curricular activities and vocational training, helps in the overall development. It teaches us the way of life and helps us implement whatever we have learnt. In today's society also, where we witness the changed meaning of education, there is a need to bring about a change in this flawed system of education. Unlike the real preaching of education, in today's times we are taught only the theoretical matter contained in books and that too in a manner that helps us only to score marks in examinations and earn good money in the future. Education is sold in schools like a product and its sole teaching is the importance of money in one's life. The 'so-called' educated people are busy minting money for themselves and increasing their bank balances, caring nothing for the source or the means. Our education system is giving us the power to decipher between the right and the wrong but more than succeeding in this aspect, it has failed to do so; the reason being the modified education system according to the needs of the ambitious few. We, the students and the future decision makers have realized that this system needs support, modification and improvement and its time when we start spreading this message to our society. Let's start from today, from our level and each of us take small steps towards a big change.

Human beings are the greatest creation of God and are consecrated with the sense of discretion that helps us to decipher between the right and wrong. But it seems that we have started losing our sense of judgment as we see less of this quality in the society. The reason for this is not very hard to find. After oxygen, food and water, the necessities for our survival comes education, crucial for the spiritual and mental growth of every person. Education gives a strong foundation to our life and makes us who we are. It is not a limited process; instead, we keep learning things till the end. We'll be called educated when we receive a proper training for an all round development from our parents, school and society. Education beautifies a person, enhancing his character and helping him to relate with his conscience that tells us what is right and what is wrong. But today, we see a changed face of education. The real meaning of education in our society is to hold degrees on paper followed by a good job with a heavy package. We are counseled by everyone around us regarding various career options that can help us become an educated person. This is the reason why we are getting money-minded and are losing our sense of discretion. How can we know what is right when the only thing we see around is money-orientedness and a dearth of moral values. But we can't say that our society is wrong; instead, the education system is deficient. When one pays heavily for his child's education that comprises of books with temporary mugging up minus values for life, the person the person will surely expect a heavy pay packet in return. But we need to question ourselves- Is money the ultimate result of education ? A life in which mankind should be our business, charity, honesty, brotherhood and peace should be our business; it is replaced with selfishness and greed for oneself. Let us strive to rectify this system by bringing a change in ourselves, that is, by inculcating more value based education, being concerned for others, living as a global family and building bridges instead of walls. This will help us redefine the real meaning of education.

Anger produces anger

In this world, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Like for instance, when sound is produced in an open area or an empty room, the same sound comes back to us in the form of an echo. Another very suitable example is of the abstract noun very widely used- Anger. This negative element is very much into practice. The people, who have seen anger, will show anger. We can say that anger produces anger. The softest target for this practice is children. If they show anger, where does it come from? The answer is- from their parents, teachers, television, media and the society. They see anger around and learn to behave in the same way. Their mistakes are followed by scolding and discouragement which is the cause of lack of self- confidence. Instead of being encouraged to do better next time and learn from their mistakes, they face criticism and get disheartened. They stop trying out new activities and hence, all this leads to a narrow view of the world. In defense they become introvert and instead of trying out new things, they say a straight ‘NO’ or show anger. This anger bars the creativity of children and they start thinking in a particular way or direction. Slowly, these negative aspects creep into their lives and with their growth, these qualities take a place in their character, personality and body language. These children, who, when grow up, behave in the same way as they were subjected to and their attitude regarding their responsibilities towards the society is also of the same kind. They give what they got- anger. Isn’t this a kind of crime? Why are we creating cruel beings out of pure and innocent minds leading to disturbance in society? We need to make this place a better one by being kind, good and polite to everyone which will produce able, responsible and creative human beings and ultimately a happy society. Life is too short for anger and sadness, let’s live with happiness and spread positive vibes around. A good deed or a good word always shines and enlightens the world.

STUDENTS’ COUNCIL .... A NEED

Every child has ideas that he/she would like the world to know. Ideasthat are radical, ideas that have the potential to change the face ofthe world. But these ideas remain locked in their minds and ultimatelyperish. If only we could give these ideas a medium for experssion, they would manifest themselves into concrete action in the long run.These ideas that stem from creativity and also the resentment towards the present education systems that kills it, need to be heard. Itwould ultimately result into positive change towards the betterment ofthe generations to come. We suggest the formation of a Student Council in schools of the city that would have coordinators of each student through their chosen representatives. These coordinators would collect ideas from students on how they think the education system can be improved. Ideas worth noting would be given a medium such as the weekly newsletter, the website or a student magazine that reach out to other students as well as important people of the state. These ideas could range from all aspects of education such as sports, arts, social service, musicor environmental concerns. Each class, that is from grades 8 to 12,would have two class coordinators and each school would have twostudents who would represent the school and co-ordinate thefunctioning of class representatives in that school. The school coordinators would be co-ordinated by five City co-ordinators who would, ideally, concentrate on one aspect of education apart from seeing over the general concerns. The idea is to unite the student force and make every voice heard. The power of the youth can be harnessed only by organized effort and channeling their unsurpassed energy in areas that can make a huge difference in the society. It is an appeal to students to come out of their shells and make their presence felt.

Expectations from the New Government

There is the new government and there are the expectations… Unexpectedly, today’s discussion witnessed a turn from the Main Topic “Expectations from Educated People and Education System’ to ‘Expectations from the New Government’. It was time they started discussing their expectations from the new government. India, being the largest democracy of the world experiences the largest phase of elections spread of a greater time span than any other democracy. They say, 'Expectations are endless'. Does that mean that we leave expecting? Afterall, when the people went out to vote, when they were the ones who were pleaded to or requested to be the kingmakers, then does it not become their responsibility to question and get answers back.Students, talking about their expectations from the new government led special impetus over Education. They were of an idea that the country needed development and the much needed development could not be brought about sans education. We have several problems facing our country today, for example unemployment, corruption, casteism, regionalism, child labour, child marriage, pollution and intellectual bankruptcy, but education is the sole solution to all these problems. Sadly, though, we never let education take the center stage in our list of concerns. If our system provides good education to each and every child and if every child attends school, will there be any scope for child labour? Issues such as child marriage would automatically vanish from society. No one would remain unemployed after receiving vocational education and social menaces such as casteism, regionalism and corruption would be rooted out if children are imparted such education that teaches love for all, derives inspiration from morals and stands for honesty and truth. With an education that stresses upon the need for judicious use of available resources, children would never grow up to harm the environment since these values would be deeply rooted in their hearts and souls. The government is indeed expected to ensure Social Security to Food, Health and Education. It must also create a strong Public Distribution System. It must ensure Universal Elementary Education. Last but not the least, Students expected the Government to realize their Dream School for them and for all.

Dream School 2009

What witnessed a flow of energy, rush of adrenaline, and a plethora of ideas was none other than Patna's largest Interschool Event - 'Dream School 2009'. On the pleasant morning of 28th April- School buses, students, teachers and other enthusiasts had already started thronging the place - even before it was time to say 'Welcome!',- atleast an hour before the reporting time.It was a journey through 60 schools of Patna, a journey of 1 and a half months, an epochal journey to let students dare, dream, think and talk about their 'Dream School'- a school that they visualised, a school that they had craved for since the very first day back at their own school. The journey through 60 schools- more than 10,000 students was indeed an exciting one. And here was what it culminated into - the Finals of Dream School 2009 at the beatiful auditorium called the Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir. It was a journey powered by Oxygen... a movement and carried out by the Event Director Sharad Vivek Sagar and Coordinator Chitranshu Tewari- both prominent student leaders of Oxygen and the city.
The event started with Chitranshu, coming onstage welcoming the people and introducing them to the Host of the event. Sharad Vivek Sagar, the Director of the event 'Dream School 2009', played an able Master of Ceremonies for the event keeping the audience involved and cheering all the way lest he signed off calling it a day.The Host announed the semi-final open. The Semifinal was a written round of thirty minutes wherein the students answered a common question - 'Why should your Dream School be chosen as an Idea Dream School?' Adding up the points of the Pre-finals stage(i.e. the project) and the Semi-finals, TOP 25 teams were picked and put on stage in 5 phases with 5 teams coming onstage at a time talking about themselves and their Project. Thereafter, out of the 25 teams - TOP 10 teams were chosen and put on stage where they faced questions from the Host, Dream Panel, and the audience. The Dream Panel comprised of Convener, Oxygen... a movement Binod Singh, International Climate Champion Barsa and Action for Nature International Eco-Hero Chitranshu Tewari .
After the TOP 10 teams underwent gruelling questions rounds- 7 teams got eliminated and Top 3 teams stepped forward faced the question of the rest of the 7 and finally made it and showed Patna what it takes to be Dream Champ 2009. And, interestingly, for what the host had kept them chanting at the top of their voice, the schools received accolades for that too. Everytime, the crowd seemed low on energy- the question from the host- Which is the best cheering school was just more than enough... that was the day Patna would never like to forget- not just for the cheering , the energy but the IDEAS...Finally, the Vote4Kids Marathon was announced for, where the students will run- to demand for a vote for them... their dreams... and turn the Dream School into a reality not just for a few, but ALL...

Dream School! But for whom? Me or We

Two children dreamt of their schools. The first one dreamt... a lovely school, with a beautiful garden whose fragnance lights up the entire school, has air-conditioned classrooms, buses, olympic-size swimming pool, a laptop per child and a lot more... he dreamt of an school that utopian for the rest but highly affordable for him and a few of his family and friends. He was satisfied!Another child dreamt of a school- ... a small school not that big nor too small, having good facilities though not lavish, good classes, teachers and he dreamt of such a school for all the children irrespective of the background- financial or social, that they came from. He was willing!Making you a God for a Day or atleast the Education Minister of India atleast because this decision making post can indeed be touted as one of the mighty positions- one whom we can look upto for a better India - Whose dream are you most likely to grant? Before, we enter into the Dream School '09 the day after tomorrow, this is one thing we all must have very clear in our minds.Before, you choose either of the one- a maxim to go by- 'India does not live in its Six Metropolitans but in its Six Lakh Villages.' And for it to develop, India must develop its Six lakh villages with special impetus than just flaunting its metropolitans.Off course! One does wish to grant the wish of the second child - ... a school and for all. We need to talk about it seriously amongst us, our friends and wherever we get a chance to put it up. We don't need Five-Star schools, a normal school with minimum basic facilities would do- but it must be inclusive not exclusive. Talking about the kind of school we want and want for all- our government schools are the ones we can look upto and for this the government needs to ensure the quality in government school and one would be happy to send their children to government-run schools. If there are some of you sitting and wondering - Government Schools??? then, one must take your attention to the premier institutions IITs and IIMs where you spend so-so much of money to get your children in- then why not here, Sir/Mam? The day, our government schools shape up and infact shape up well, that will be the day when we can proudly say- we are on the path of development. Let us talk of inclusive schools not exclusive schools!

Fear of Police? or God?

Many a times, we come across people sharing their utopian vision for a better world. Too often, do people say that a better world can be established only after we have an able administration, civic sense, strict norms and so on. Overall, we find people of the opinion that the fear instilled in the citizens regarding the norms, regulations and administration is a must so as to have a better country.
We generally come across the statement that only the fear of police and administration can make this country a better place to live in. Let us throw some light on this fear factor. Talking in general, you do not do anything wrong in public as you fear the police. You do not jump traffic signals as you fear the traffic cop. You do not murder, loot, kidnap as you fear the administration. But does it go the same way for all? Do all the people not do the mentioned things due to the fear? Unfortunately, not. Today, we have by large entered into a world where not many people fear the administration. Even amongst the ones who do, they do not care about it in the absence of the keepers of the law.
In such a condition, does one not get the feel of whom to fear? Lets ask ourselves whom to fear: GOD or Cops and Administration. Surprisingly, one finds the presence of God-fearing people as a positive and optimistic sign of a better world. If one has the love for and fear of God, would he indulge himself in something that is morally wrong? Why not start appealing to a man’s soul, the god that is inside of him than to make him fear the police. A god-fearing person would automatically fear the administration too and infact would not do something that is offendable. Let us start creating a society where people have the fear of god and not administration. Well, some people might be thinking of those who do not fear either. Well, for them, there is always an option to resort to judicial actions. But, our foremost aim should be to let people be God-fearing... let them fear the almighty and not just the mighty.

Student Council with a Difference!

Students should play an active, positive role in school life and the concept of having Student Council in schools helps to achieve this. It gives students a voice and the opportunity to work in partnership with management and staff to improve their schools. Through this we hope to give students a positive role in the organization of the school thus ensuring that they are listened to and respected for their ideas and concerns. Student Council members should be involved in the decisions, which are made regarding the day-to-day running and management of the school. Discussions and Student Council meetings should be held to develop social and learning skills such as speaking, listening, problem solving and decision making. The concept of having Student Council should aim at involving young people in our school, who feel alienated from the society and have little confidence in their capacity to contribute to bring about change in their area and those who happen to be powerless in a system of governance that rules their lives. It should encourage them to understand why people vote and enables them to actively see the power of a collective voice to stimulate change.Student Council should offer students experiences and provide multi-dimensional approaches initiated by the students themselves via dialogue which encourages enthusiasm and maintains involvement by virtue of achievements. A sense of respect, care and trust should be inculcated in members. Communication between students, teachers, the principal and the board of management should be made paramount. It should offer the children the opportunity to voice their opinion, listen to each other and express their needs via the student body to get what it is they want. The members should be actively involved in the student council, to attend meetings regularly, participate in activities and be a role model for other students. They should try to hone out their hidden qualities and should work for a revamp as they are going to be the part of the active vibrant body which will lead to a better place to live in. It should propose how students can turn their dreams into reality. Finally this should help to prepare an active citizen, an active member of society with an independent way of thinking.

We need Reforms!

“Law” the word in itself creates havoc and its implementation is always questioned. Thousands and thousands of laws are formulated every year but hardly any of them are followed. If laws are not going to be followed, let’s just throw them out. But if the rule of law is to be obeyed, then it is with the younger generation that the process must start. More laws and more directives will change nothing till every one of us is held to account for wrongdoing. There are too many people trapped in a dysfunctional system and it is for them we must keep trying. It is the duty of each and every citizen to look into such issues and work for a great change. The positive side can only be seen if people come out to challenge the conditions in which the vast majority of people live and fight the special interests that maintain such conditions. Even brighter front can be maintained if people question the unjust laws that clamp down on those who oppose it. The essential principle behind all this is that every one of us has the right to speak out, to protest wrong actions, to question laws that they believe are unjust, to question the authorities when they demonstrate unjust behavior. The due process of law must be followed. This is surely the minimum right of every person. It’s this right that is in jeopardy today when people can be arrested for challenging what is happening around them. It is a sad day when threats are issued against those who ask for the due process of law. It is sadder still when people hesitate to speak out on an arrested person’s right to due process for fear that they will be arrested as sympathizers of banned organizations. So, what is badly required today is reformation to build a humane, compassionate and caring society and values that we surely do not want to lose in the race for unethical values. Reformation is all about bringing alignment to what is displaced or malfunctioning in the society and can be clearly seen if each one of us start taking initiatives.

Every minute, every hour, every day, we are simply in the process of Dying. Yes, Dying. SURPRISING? Isn't it? Yes, we are so much preoccupied with our busy and hectic life schedules that we forget many basic aspects of human lives. There are so many things that seem so insignificant or unimportant. Yet, they build up our life or destroy it, they contribute to our happiness or misery, they are a source of danger or a wheel to progress. It all depends on us that how we take up even the smallest venture of our lives. We waste a large percentage of our energy fretting and fuming in useless anxiety and in complaining.We are very much interested in materialism. We are so much inclined through this materialistic world that we are unable to bring about different other colours in our lives. Colours in life do not only refer to earn livelihood but it also refers to doing each and every activity with full devotion and cheerfulness. Be it fulfilling our social responsibility, working for downtrodden or living our own personal lives. Festivals provide succor from these painful dealings and rejuvenate us with lots of energy and enthusiasm. With festivals round the corner, our difficulties melt away making us cheerful with lots of fun and frolic. Along with happiness, one of the best aspects of festivals is that of SHARING. This reinforces the social bonds between the group who celebrate the festival and shows strength and solidarity to those outside this social group. Here comes Holi and every nook and corner presents a typically colorful sight. People bury their hatchets with a warm embrace and throw their worries to the wind and greet even their enemies with a big bright SMILE. BUT it is bad to be extravagant in celebration instead we should take time to help the needy, poor and old people and share our happiness with them also. The Literacy of the Whole Personality

"An education system isn't worth great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make life." The above line is rightly said and it clearly defines the true essence of an education system. Literacy is the superficial aspect of any system where as "Literacy of the Whole Personality" is the soul of that very system. "Literacy of the Whole Personality" means to train our hands, eyes, mind and heart in such a way that they never do things against humanitarian principle. In other words we need to train our Gen Next in a way that ensures to inculcate ethical and morale values. It should be planned in such a way that it may enable our young people to remain loyal to their spiritual ideas and ideals. Love of God, country and humanity; sympathy, tolerance, impeccable honesty and uncompromising regard for truth should be made part and parcel of any existing education system. We need such a blend of education which can turn out a new manhood, vigorous yet calm, mighty yet tolerant and sympathetic, idealistic yet practical to the backbone. Finally it will be a terrible mistake on our part if we do not shape our education system accordingly.

Education means an overall development of an individual. We want such a system where we all are comfortable with our studies and don't merely take it as a burden. We would love to take tests for subjects like math, English, etc. with the right kind of counseling. Further we'd love to explore the different fields of learning such as sports, music and social activities. A balanced growth is very important for an individual and for this, we need to accomplish in more fields such as music, art, language and test ourselves. For instance, discipline in life can be brought when we involve ourselves in games and play fair. Our self-confidence and morale boosts up when we are exposed to the masses or indulge in social activities. We have placed co-curricular activities at a lower level and only the books get primary importance. But these fields of learning which are so called extra curricular activities form the very core of education. Knowledge in these fields and their assessment is important for the nourishment of one's character. These activities are very important and inclusion of these and their official examination would surely help bring a radical change in the society. A revamp in the exam patterns is necessary so that we can realize our dream of taking tests in all these fields- music, sports and social activities, a reality!

The world is encountering a population explosion with a very high percentage of youth population; hence, a booming human resource.But the people of this world are turning so ambitious that they have stopped considering the means by which they achieve their ambitions. The words like 'Industrialisation', 'globalisation', commercialisation' have gained so much importance that spirituality and humanity seem to be losing their significance.But now, the youth will tell them the difference between right and wrong and bring them on TRACK.We are living in a place full of corruption and evils. And yes, we have the potentiality to change the world. We are the future. But what about our present? Yes, we are the future, but can we afford to wait till we grow up to exercise the right to franchise and then become the decision makers? We are the youth, brimming with energy, zeal and enthusiasm. Do we really need to wait till we become evil servants, artists, actors in order to so the world what we are? The answer is- No. We, the youth need not wait for the moment but we have to create the moment and let our energy wake the world in our own little ways. We have to reach out. Be it stopping somebody from littering our locality, spreading or achieving our own short them goals. We are not only the coming tomorrow, but we have to be the present as well. Fresh and pure, we are capable of banishing the evils from society. Once we start our multitasking, there's no stopping Us. We need to take off some of the responsibilities from those weak shoulders this moment itself. Taking the initiative from “ME” and converting it as a youth force to “WE”, we'll make THEM believe that we don't WAIT, we CREATE.

I want to love my exams

Its been two weeks that I have not gone out for playing nor have I watched any T.V. show sine two weeks. Know the reason behind it, EXAMS.Exams........the very word is sufficient in causing tension and fear in students. Exams are indeed necessary to judge the mental ability of the child and setting certain standards for promoting the child.Examinations are not only the tests of the receiver but also of the giver i.e. is the teacher. Exams, the very one that we face today are mere tests of memory and not understanding. The examinations mainly focus on extracting facts and data from the child. They are completely book-centred and merely involve any mental exercise. There are frequent incidences when there is complete nervous-breakdown of the child in the examination hall. And mind it, this is not the case with the toddlers but also many youngsters. Tears rolling down the cheeks, inability to answer despite of knowing the answer, suffering from fever and nausea are few of the symptoms that indicate as to how much fear does EXAMINATION cause to children. More than two semesters in an academic session, multiple sittings in a day and memory-based questions are a perfect combination to harass the child and make him psychologically uneasy. Regular assessments of the students, weekly tests will surely supplement in judging the academic and intellectual level of the child. Proper counseling and guidance, constant support of parents will enable the child to take the examinations as a normal happening and not as a terror. Innovation in the examination pattern and full-fleged support of family and friends will make each child say-’ I love my examinations’.

Rang de basanti

With the lovely fragrance all around, dancing flowers singing the song, here arrives the spring to rejuvenate us. Spring time is symbolic of a new beginning. After the hard times of winter, spring comes with a new ray of hope. It signifies that no matter how long and dark the night may be, the beginning of a new dawn is inevitable. The Indian culture is not only unique because of its long history but also because of the importance that it gives to nature. It has nurtured love and respect for nature through its various rituals. Basant panchmi is a nature festival. We worship goddess Sarswati on this day. She is the goddess of ‘art and wisdom’. It is customary to worship the deity on this day and ask her to give us the wisdom to lead a good life. We invoke her blesssings before taking up a new task. In terms of energy and ambience, it is the best time to introspect oneself and attain new heights through our planned actions.Lets ask the deity to ‘rang de basanti’ . Basanti is the colour of sanctity, revolution, patriotism and newness. To live with ‘basanti fervor’ means to be able to learn, unlearn and relearn. Discard of old habits will give way to new ones. This can be learnt from the around that shed their leaves and bear new leaves. Change is the rule of nature and we too are bound undergo some changes during our lifetime. Now, its up to us that how, when and in what manner we implement changes in our lives.But, in our celebration lets not forget that it the festival meant to appreciate the beautiful nature and thank it for its bountiful resources. We hope and pray that this festival rejuvenates our vigor and give us the thoughtfulness to live in harmony with nature. The earth is suffering from multiple problems at the moment and most of them have an anthropogenic origin. Lets join hands in protecting mother earth and keeping it green.

Serving the purpose of ‘Republic’

In the year 1950, this great nation became a sovereign republic. Republic or a system of people. The whole idea behind the adoption of a republican system was to ensure the participation of all people in governance and that in turn would be in accordance with the interest of the majority.In a joint family, its members have different needs and temperament. It is the responsibility of the head of the family to see that at least the basic requirements of all are fulfilled and they also get a chance to present their views and ideas regarding various issues. The head also needs to check that the work of one member does not cause hindrance in the path of success of others. The same is exactly the case with our republican system. Its head, namely the government has to see that no section is neglected. At present, the distribution of resources is so uneven that ninety-five percent of the total resources of our country in the hands of just five percent people and on the other hand the remaining ninety-five percent of the population struggles to get its share from mere five percent resources.It's the moral and official duty of the government to ensure proper allocation of funds in various fields and work on priority basis. It also needs to involve the populace in decision-making. We certainly don’t appreciate a republic without the very thought of involvement of the public. The arrow shot can not be brought back , but we indeed can ascertain that our next arrow hits the target well. So, lets hope that in the coming years this nation serves the purpose of being a republic.

The more the merrier is a proverb that sounds perfectly fine. A given piece of task can successfully be completed in a short duration if more people are there to do it. The work can be done more efficiently if the persons executing it are skillful. On the contrary, if the people act shrewdly then it can prove disastrous for others. Each one adds a drop to make the mighty ocean. If everyone works honestly then there would be no problem around us.The same is the case with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of any country. All the citizens of a country work to increase the GDP which is the index of economic progress. The same GDP can see a crash just due to mean actions of a few individuals. Education aims at making the individual dextrous. Skillful people can make a great difference in the productivity. But the same knowledge and skill can be used to manipulate things that can prove fatal. Knowledge without benefit to others is just like a book that is kept on the shelf and has never been read. Knowledge without application will soon rust but this certainly does not mean that knowledge should be used for evil purpose.Education can either bring out the best in the child or completely spoil a child’s life. The educational institutes should the quality of education that they are imparting. Moral education should be given an equal importance as vocational training. Education is power but this power must not be misutilized. Its easy to rise but its even easier to fall. Only a little is required on our part. We need not do herculean tasks, small efforts will cumulate to give big results. In order to get immediate gains, we should not adopt wrong ways. Good things are not achieved easily and what is easily-got is not good.

Curing the Diseased Systems

In a society there are a number of things that act as controls for the smooth functioning of the social set-up. There are also institutions that frame the rules and regulations, maintain law and order. and provide remedy to various problems. Prime institutions of such type are schools, college, parliament and the police department. In addition to framing of laws there are other bodies that are houses from which remedy or treatment to our problems and query is expected. If you are sick then you seek the advise of a doctor but what if the doctor himself is sick . This is absolutely the case with our various systems. These systems came into existence to provide relief and remedy to the persisting problems but in due course themselves diseased. The present condition is indeed deplorable. Temples of justice- the courts have become an open market where judgement is sold, schools that ought to be learning centre has turned into business houses. most of our systems have deceased virtually and are there just for the name -sake. If the well itself is empty then how will it quench the thirst of those who suffering from scorching heat. What can be done in such a situation? A major role can be played by the young generations that can bring about drastic change by being the change themselves. Youth should be responsive and should question various authorities on different issues. Where there is a problem, there is a remedy too, the only thing is that we need to keep awakened. Our systems are literally dying and their existence is just for name-sake. Physical existence with a defunct machinery makes no sense, so we need to gear up and take the charge of repairing and curing the essential and paramount systems of our democratic nation for the healthy survival of all.

Our promise & your co-operation

India is democratic nation of a billion plus people. In a democracy, the citizens exercise their right to choose their representatives through elections. Elections provides an opportunity to make a government of our choice. Political leaders are the pillars of our government system and the public lay their valuable trust in them by electing them as their representatives.Any person needs only a few basic things to lead a dignified life. If the people co-operate with government and the government also works in the interest of the people then this nation is sure to progress. People who are not in the government can certainly intervene in it by questioning them it on various issues. A machine gives it best output when all its parts work in perfect synchronization. Similarly, our system will work smoothly only when all its constituent work in agreement with each other.A luxurious life is not what one needs, there are very basic requirements that are needed. The promise of the public to work honestly and the cooperation of the government to avail the following three amenities can make a happy nation.(1) People can promise to consume a balanced diet but in turn the state needs to see that at least the common food items are available at a reasonable rate. This can be achieved through an effective public distribution system. Millions of mouth can be fed satisfactorily the public distribution system is sound. (2) Children can assure that they go to school and work for in the direction to achieve academic and moral excellence and excellence. This can be ensured only when the state avails them schools in abundant number where children can get quality education. Schools are centres of learning. The provision for schools should be such that all the children can accommodated. Schools are the right place where children get exposed to new ideas and are given a platform to expand their creativity. Its said that a strong building requires a strong foundation, so does it go for children. Children too need a strong foundation on which they can carve their own destiny. (3) People can make an earnest effort to remain healthy but the government should provide a good health-care system for this. This will ensure a good national health. There should be at least one health centre in each area so that people need not go to distant places for the treatment of common and simple ailments. People should not suffer due to dearth of medicines or treatment. good health is the pre-requisite for all other development in an individual’s life.If the state assures the above three things then the citizens of this vast nation will not worry for their next meal and their health problems. A free mind is necessary for experimenting new things, on the contrary a mind burdened with numerous problems has limited power of imagination. Thus, the co-operation of the government and the people is essential for our nation’s progress.
