All’s well that Ends well

Some people say that all good things must come to an end. If good things didn't come to an end, they wouldn't be good things. It means it's good for now but won't last forever. Like Ice cream, its good but it won't last forever. It melts or you eat it and it's gone. They would just be dull and boring things that just kept going on and on and on. 

Take music for example. Say you're listening to a really good song that you absolutely love. If it didn't end, you wouldn't be able to memorize the whole thing and sing it yourself because it would just be too long. Plus, if a song didn't end, you wouldn't be able to listen to it over and over again once it is finished because it won't finish. 

Another thing is that if the song did not end, you wouldn't be able to listen to other songs and see which one you like best because you're stuck with just one song.

Another reason for why good things must come to an end is because sometimes good things are bad. Like life and people.

Life is a good thing but if it didn't end, all the bad people in the world would still be alive which will make the lives of other people miserable. If life didn't end, Osama Bin Laden would still be alive, terrorizing the world. If life didn't end, Adolf Hitler would still be ruling Germany. If life didn't end, World War 1 would still be continuing. You see, the list could just go on and on.

Sometimes it's a good thing when good things come to an end, like life."ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END - There is an end to everything, to good things as well. 

Life is full of challenges and more we live more we face new events. Some pass easily and others not.  In other words, as they say that Every tide has its ebb! The world we live in is not perfect, and we will never ever find a world such as the perfect state which the philosopher Plato talked about. Life is full of challenges and the longer we live the more we face new events. So we should live life each and every moment because life is unpredictable.

A Silent Prayer

Sometimes, a tragedy hits you so hard, it knocks you back, leaving you out of breath, helpless flailing. This was somebody else's daughter. She could have been your sister or even mine….The outraged caused by the Delhi gang rape has manifested itself in the form of protests and rallies, as eve-teasing is rampant in our state capital too.

A Prayer Service cum Candle Light March was holded by Students' Oxygen Movement on the Doomsday, 21st Dec, 2012 in S.K Puri, Childrens' Park Patna for the speedy recovery of the Delhi Paramedical Student as well as for bringing about a much needed CHANGE in our system; in our society…so that we can become more HUMAN.

This Prayer Service Meet was attended by many school and college students; primarily from Missionary, Private as well as government run institutions. Noted educationists, teachers, principals, guardians and above all the common people as well joined this marathon service. The students were displaying placards which read “HUM TUMHARI SALAMATI KE LIYE PRARTHANA KERTE HAIN”. Everybody present there was joining in singing the prayer songs and hymns notably “ITNI SHAKTI HAME DENA DATA”. 

The atmosphere over there was raged with intense emotions, anguish and outburst among the people. Everybody was condemning the heinous activities that have been meted out against the “GIRLS” since times immemorial till this present moment. The highlight of this gathering was when everybody marched out on the road  and on the top of their voices once again raised their uproar and concern by proclaiming.. “WE WANT JUSTICE…HANG THE CULPRITS…JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED” and so on.

This historic meet was ended on the note that “This is not the end, this is just the BEGINNING. Its high time to bring about a drastic and much-needed change and for that WE need to be the CHANGE.”

Character Building

Character is the solid foundation on which a person’s entire life is based. History has, time and again, thrown the statistics at us. Character education presents life with context, inviting them to listen, share, explore, and reflect. Cultivating knowledge for purposeful living, students learn through literature, art, humanities and throughout the existing school curriculum the benefits and consequences of behavior.

Men of good character have been remarkably successful. Whether it was Thomas Edison whose inventions changed the world, or it was Abraham Lincoln who was president of the United States, or Gandhi the lone crusader of nonviolence, or Mother Theresa who chose to do social work they all had one thing in common- they were all people of character.

Character is the magic ingredient that sets you apart from the rest. Our character will determine our success and each of us has the ability and the potential to develop and strengthen our character.

Character is a potpourri of many qualities like honesty, integrity, dependability, diligence, loyalty, compassion, sincerity, attentiveness, determination, confidence, etc. All these traits and many more sum up one’s character.

Everyone has character. It is our character that defines who we are and what we will become. Some people have more fully developed, some qualities, which set them apart from the rest. While character has much to do with the mental and ethical traits that make a person, it actually refers to the unique qualities that are built into an individual’s life which establish his reaction despite his circumstances.

Although character might mean a lot of qualities, the fact is that all the qualities are kind of inter­related. If you are honest automatically you are more dependable, more responsible, and more conscientious. When our overall character improves, it translates into success in all the areas of our lives.

Often we tend to disregard the direct influence character has on our successes or failures. When you consider the individual qualities that come together to make ones character then it becomes easier to understand how character affects our lives. If you are honest at work, it will directly relate to your dependability which in turn will translate into better work being sent your way. If you are discreet, then people will be keener on sharing their knowledge with you.

If you are diligent, better offers will come your way. If you are compassionate, you will receive the goodwill and the blessings of both your peers and your friends.

The youth of today live in troubled times. The stuff that is dished out in the name of entertainment and news fills the minds of the young with all the wrong things. These are tough times and children are often weak and give into peer pressure. The youth of today face grave problems such as substance abuse, gang activity, school dropouts, vandalism, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy and youth violence. These are all moral issues having much to do with our ethics.

There are no easy solutions. If any kind of long-term solution is hoped to be achieved we will have to go to the grass roots—the core values. Children who have strong sense of values will be under lesser pressure to succumb because there is already support system and it is not outside them, it is within. Core values give them the ability, the courage to stand up for what they believe in.

Character is the tree and habits are the seeds you sow to reap it. If you invest in good habits, you will have reaped character and if you invest in character you will reap destiny.

Hard Work Vs Talent

Success is the goal of each of us. Success is a possibility for all of us; however, the secret to reach it has a dual face: talent and genius on one side, ambition and persistence on the other. Talent and genius are wealth that we should wisely employ. Ambition and persistence are motors we should wisely use. Success is a combination of innate talent and persistence. When one of the component is absent, the result cannot be achieved.

Hard work beats talent in many a occasions. See talent can take you so far no  matter  anywhere you want to go. It is hard to find someone with either your skills or your abilities. So talent opens a lot of doors for the person that has it. Most people that have talent or an unbelievable skill feel that they do not have to put as much work in or time as a person without talent.

Which is not true because there is always room for improvement know matter how good you are and in order to improve it takes hard work. A person that works hard that does not have talent can go farther then someone with talent. A good hard dedicated worker is very hard to find. When someone is willing to put off time to improve and fully dedicate their self to something that they love, they can also take it farther.

Along the way you will start to develop some kind of talent, which is known as hard work. When you are learning or you master a skill or talent it takes hard work and dedication to be able to control your gift. Hard work is a talent so with hard work you can conquer anything at any degree. A lot of people (coaches, teachers…etc) do want someone that has talent or want somebody that is use to the skill. It does not matter if you have no talent at all. Someone with hard working tendencies can out work someone with talent any day.

If talent works hard that is even greater than just hard work because now talent can now go above and beyond it means to do things that not even a hard worker can do. Without hard work you can’t really do anything but with hard work you can do anything you set your mind to that even means being one of the most talented people in the world.

One can use it for personal growth, professional growth or none the less one can also use it to find a job.

is free and it's one of the best medium for communication. With it one can connect to any type of people from anywhere in the world. Facebook is best for finding Old friends. We can share our feelings and what's happening around in our daily lives through Facebook. We can also get feedback from our friends. It is the best medium to share your feelings and thoughts with others. It has good privacy setting which gives us the option to customize according to our wishes.

 Facebook Fan pages , groups , events etc are getting popular day by day. It also has new features like group chatting, notification to all members whenever anyone posts anything. There are millions of people who uses Facebook only for playing games with their friends. It plays a very important role in getting latest valuable information. We can also use facebook as social bookmarking site. We can share our article, blogs , photo's etc to thousands of people. It can also be use as video chat tool.

But yes, one cannot deny the fact that it is too much addicting! Fake profile is one of its biggest disadvantages. It  brings bad effects on students results. Beside students, people who work in offices wastes their time browsing Facebook. There are plenty of groups and Fan pages out there which is being created to abuse or violate other religion , personalities , nation etc. Sometimes it can be life threatening. Many unknown people can track your activities and where you are going. As a result you can face trouble. So be careful in choosing friends and keeping your activities private.

 To conclude, people must know how to use facebook in the right way, so that they can manage their time between work and facebook. The disadvantages will occur when they abuse facebook.

This Diwali Say LESS to Crackers

Festivals like Diwali has own uniqueness- “it’s a festival of lights” apart from mythological stories, God’s worship, sweets and gifts what we look forward is crackers!

For most people lighting of firecrackers is the highlight of Diwali. Brighter the sparkles, louder the noise the greater the thrill!! In fact to many of us, these aesthetic forms of light seem so appropriate and most essential when   celebrating the 'Festival of Lights'. 

But little do people realize that in our increasingly populated and polluted cities, the temporary joy of watching the firecrackers is soon replaced by the intense air pollution caused by these. The toxic substances used in the firecrackers release toxic gases that are harmful to the health of all living beings. The high level of noise generated by the crackers cause immense suffering to birds and animals. The noise from firecrackers has a more deleterious effect on animals who have a more sensitive sense of hearing than humans. Pets such as dogs and cats, as well as stray cattle in and around cities are most affected. 

Besides, Diwali crackers are dreaded by the sick and the ailing. Excessive noise pollution caused by crackers lead to hearing loss, high blood pressure, heart attack and sleeping disturbances. Sudden exposure to loud noise could cause temporary deafness or permanent relative deafness.

Another criticism is that smog caused by firecrackers may be harmful to inhale and can cause difficulty for drivers because of reduced visibility.

Sadly, few of us realise that the firecrackers used on Diwali are mostly made by very young children. Since the substances being handled are extremely toxic many of these child labourers get sick and die in their early teenage years.

Diwali with a difference has been the agenda of various schools for a long time. This year, Students’ Oxygen Movement decided to celebrate Diwali in a distinct way by organizing a Road show spreading out the noble message to all as “ This Diwali say LESS to Crackers”. Students from various Government and Private schools participated in this program. They displayed placards depicting the message of having a less air and noise pollution  free Diwali. The students were very enthusiastic regarding this program and they vehemently promised to follow the same principle. The students also raised their voice to make the Diwali green to save the environment from getting polluted by bursting of fire crackers.         

 If we want to change our world, we should carry out the step, which should be good for our environment as well as our country. Since we ourselves are the only cause of pollution, only we can reduce it. It is we who can change the world and can make it a beautiful and better place to live in.

Our Rights

Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.

Universal human rights are often expressed and guaranteed by law, in the forms of treaties, customary international law, general principles and other sources of international law. International human rights law lays down obligations of Governments to act in certain ways or to refrain from certain acts, in order to promote and protect human rights.  

All human rights are indivisible, whether they are civil and political rights, such as the right to life, equality before the law and freedom of expression; economic, social and cultural rights, such as the rights to work, social security and education, or collective rights, such as the rights to development and self-determination, are indivisible, interrelated and interdependent. The improvement of one right facilitates advancement of the others. 

All States have ratified at least one, and 80% of States have ratified four or more, of the core human rights treaties, reflecting consent of States which creates legal obligations for them and giving concrete expression to universality Some fundamental human rights norms enjoy universal protection by customary international law across all boundaries and civilizations.

Human rights are inalienable. They should not be taken away, except in specific situations and according to due process. For example, the right to liberty may be restricted if a person is found guilty of a crime by a court of law.  

Human rights are international norms that help to protect all people everywhere from severe political, legal, and social abuses. 

 Human rights entail both rights and obligations. States assume obligations and duties under international law to respect, to protect and to fulfill human rights. The obligation to respect means that States must refrain from interfering with or curtailing the enjoyment of human rights. The obligation to protect requires States to protect individuals and groups against human rights abuses. The obligation to fulfill means that States must take positive action to facilitate the enjoyment of basic human rights. At the individual level, while we are entitled our human rights, we should also respect the human rights of others.  

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Festivities Around Us

India is one of the most diverse countries in the world when it comes to culture and religions. As a result, the celebration of holidays and festivals, whether traditional or religious, has always been an important part of Indian culture. Indians enjoy celebrating their differences and sharing their traditions with others and due to the variety of different groups in India, there is a festival celebrated most days out of the year in some part of the country. As diverse as India is, there are three national holidays that are celebrated everywhere and by everyone and several religious holidays that are celebrated by so many people they are considered to be public holidays. Employers are entitled to give their employees the day off on these days and children have the day off from school.

The Hindu celebrations of Diwali, Holi, Pongal and Dussehra are the most popular religious holidays in India and therefore are considered by the government to be public holidays.

Festivals are an intrinsic part of the Indian way of life, a golden thread that runs through its cultural fabric. Given the size of India, the vast diversity of its people, religions, cultures, languages and terrain, it is not surprising that there are a variety of festivals being celebrated all the year round.

Festivals all over the country celebrate the coming of the seasons and harvest time, aspects of fertility and renewal all are closely linked to many of these festivals. Festivals are the occasions when houses are cleaned and whitewashed. They occur at different times and vary in their celebrations.

The Epic Saga of Dusshera

India is the land of distinct culture and colorful festivals. Each festival in India has its own meaning and purpose of celebration. Dussehra is a very popular Hindu festival, which marks the defeat of Ravana by Lord Rama. Dussehra also symbolises the triumph of warrior Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon, Mahishasura. 

According to the great Indian epic, Ramayana, Ravana was a great scholar but a demon. He was the king of Lanka. He was killed on this day by Rama. Bengalis believe that Durga came on the earth on this day the meaning of Durga is victory of good over evil. We celebrate Dussehra so that our evils are destroyed and goodness triumphs. It connotes ten evils, which man should conquer as ‘Duss’ means ten and ‘hara’ means defeat. 

The 'Ramlila' - an enactment of the life of Lord Rama, is held during the nine days preceding Dussehra. On the tenth day (Dussehra or Vijay Dasami), larger than life effigies of Ravana, his son and brother - Meghnadh and Kumbhakarna are set to fire.

The theatrical enactment of this dramatic encounter is held throughout the country in which every section of people participates enthusiastically.

In burning the effigies the people are asked to burn the evil within them, and thus follow the path of truth and goodness, bearing in mind the instance of Ravana, who despite all his might and majesty was destroyed for his evil ways.

The effigies of the demon kings, Ravana, Kumbhkarna and Meghnath are burnt. The play of Ramayana is staged and fairs are arranged all over the country. People feast and distribute sweets. The children wear new clothes and get toys and sweet.

In some communities on this day, sisters put a tilak on their brother’s forehead. They pray for their welfare.  Businessmen worship their account books on this day. Dussehra not only brings joy but also inspires us to win over our bad instincts by good deeds and pious thoughts.

Dussehra also known as Vijayadashami is a 10 day observance of ceremonies and rituals. It falls in the month Ashwin or Kartik as per Hindu calendar. This festival is celebrated in the remembrance of Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and also celebrated as the day when Goddess Durga killed the Demon Mahishasura. It is celebrated as a victory of good over evil. Dussehra is celebrated throughout the country in various manners. The celebration starts with navratri and is concluded on the tenth day which is Dussehra. This festival is also considered as the end of summer season and beginning of winters.

Dussehra is an important festival for Hindus not only because of its religious significance but also to reminds us about the victory of good over evil. It reminds us of the good deeds of Lord Rama whose morality is an example for all mankind to lead life in an honorable way. He was obedient to his parents; hence even after being the most loved Price and deserving to be the king of Ayodhya he chose to fulfill the wish of his father and went away for 14 years of banishment. This festival teaches us to be patient and live life with a code. To be strong to withstand the right path and to do what is right. 

In Bengal this day is celebrated as Durga Pooja. Throughout Navratri celebrations take place and on the final day Goddess Durga is worshiped who killed the mighty Mahishasura and freed the mankind from his fear. The statues and idols of Durga are submerged into waters. It is believed that Begalis have embraced Durga as their daughter and once a year she visits their homes. Then on Vijayadashami she leaves for her husband’s home.

Dussehra Celebrations: Dussehra can also be understand as "Dasa-Hara", that means the cutting of the ten heads of Ravana.

Proper Utilization & Conservation of Resources

Proper utilization and management of nature and its resources is termed as conservation. International Union for conservation of Natural and Natural Resources (IUCN) define conservation as rational use of environment to provide a high quality of living for the mankind. Conservation is essential for life support system like air, water, land, flora & fauna, biodiversity and ecosystems.

What are we doing to protect our surroundings? Garbage heaps are increasing and disposal of waste seems an alarming task. People are becoming insensitive towards plants and animals thereby harming our ecosystem.

As human beings, what have we done to protect our environment? Do you know why we need to conserve our wildlife?  We must make a conscious effort to conserve the world's plants and animals. Plants are essential for our own survival. Plants use the sun's energy to make food—a process called photosynthesis.

Therefore plants are the first important link in the food chain of which humans also form a part. During photosynthesis, oxygen is released and oxygen is vital for the existence of life itself.

Animals need plants in order to survive, but plants also need animals. Animals and plants are therefore delicately bound together. The removal of even one species of animal/plant can drastically alter the ecosystem. Isn't this frightening?

Natural resources are conserved due to economic as their natural beauty and importance to local culture. Preserving biodiversity is essential for ecosystems to respond flexibly to damage or change.

Our own survival may be threatened if we cause too much disruption to the natural processes that occur on this Earth.  A further reduction in rainfall will increase desert areas.

We need to preserve our wildlife as well. We use many plants and ani­mals to supply us with food, materials, chemicals, etc. If we continue to exploit these species to a point where they cannot replenish themselves, they will no longer be available to us.

The measures like proper drainage, storage, use, flood control can be taken for conservation of water. Energy conservation require the use of renewable energy resource and alternative energy resource and in household energy can be conserved by turning down thermostats, switching off unnecessary lights, insulating homes and using less hot water.

Forests are one of the most important natural resources that have been gifted to mankind for their sustained existence on earth. They provide us with huge amounts of tangible and intangible benefits, without which indeed, all life, less to say human life, would fall under the risk of extinction. Hence, it is vital for us to realize this importance of forest cover, conserve them, and ultimately work towards a sustainable way to maintain our forests and meet our needs at the same time.

Gradually if we manage to destroy most of the world's animals and plants, the Earth will become barren. For a moment, let us stop being selfish. Do we have the right to destroy animals and plants which have as much right as us, humans, to share this planet?

All life on Earth, be it humans, animals or plants, is the product of millions of years of evolution. This tiny planet is the only one we know of on which life exists. Therefore, we need to learn to co-exist with the species which have evolved with us, and take active steps to ensure their survival.

Caring for natural resources and promoting their sustainable use is an essential response of world community to ensure its own survival and well being". Think and do the eco friendly exercises in life.

Gandhi- Father of our nation

The Father of our nation,Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. He is called 'Mahatma', meaning Great Soul because of his greatness.

Gandhi Ji helped free the Indian people from British rule through nonviolent resistance, therefore he is honored by Indians as the father of the  Nation.

More than once Gandhi used fasting to impress upon others the need to be nonviolent. India was granted independence in 1947, and partitioned into India and Pakistan. Rioting between Hindus and Muslims followed. Gandhiji had been an advocate for a united India where Hindus and Muslims lived together in peace.

When he attempted to claim his rights as a British subject he was abused, and soon saw that all Indians suffered similar treatment. Gandhi stayed in South Africa for 21 years attempting to secure rights for Indian people.

On January 13, 1948, at the age of 78, he began a fast with the purpose of stopping the bloodshed. After 5 days the opposing leaders pledged to stop the fighting and Gandhiji broke his fast. Twelve days later a Hindu fanatic, Nathuram Godse who opposed his program of tolerance for all creeds and religion assassinated him.

Mahatma Gandhi’s life is a monument to the triumph of spirit over flesh, a living witness to the victory of the divine over the base nature of man. A continuous exercise of self-restraint and discipline, along with deep prayer and an invincible faith in the Divine, enabled him to successfully resist all kinds of temptations, overcome all obstacles and gain full mastery over himself.

Gandhiji’s life was dedicated to the ideals of Truth, Non-violence and Love. 'The Bhagavad Gita is my mother,' he once said; and the name of Sri Rama was his shield. He was the architect of India's freedom and one of the greatest men of this century. 

There are 6 principles that Gandhi followed:

Truth: fight your own inner demons, fear and insecurities. Everyone is unique in this world and therefore, one should not compare with others. Be honest with yourself of who you are and what you want. If you think there is something to fix, then fix it.

Nonviolence: control your temper and also your thoughts. What we think, we become and therefore if you always are thinking of hurting someone or feeling extremely angry at someone, those are the vibes you'll be giving to others. Best way to be nonviolent is to think positive and believe that whatever happens, it is for a good reason.

Vegetarianism: not everyone can resist meat, but you can control your consumption. For health reasons, avoiding eating a lot of red meat is a good idea.

Brahmacharya: many of us want to get married and have children or be intimate with someone. Therefore, becoming a brahmacharya might not be possible. However, you could reduce thinking of the opposite sex as an object. You could also wait to be intimate with someone till after marriage.

Simplicity: life in the western countries tends to be quite fast. Do you need the latest fashion clothing or can you wear the clothes you already have?  Simplicity doesn't mean foregoing all your desires, but not buying something right away or something you don't really need. Simplicity also means being happy with what you are given and have.

Faith: believing that there is someone or something higher than you. You don't need to believe in God, but believing that everyone is equal and you are no less or more than someone else. It is knowing your values, ethics and morals. Faith is not following others blindly especially when someone else is doing something that your heart says is not right. 

May the Mahatma’s light of love illuminate the hearts of nations and individuals! May his spirit bless us all with the vision and strength to realize in our everyday life all his lofty ideals of truth, purity, non-violence and faith in the Divine!

Life is full of challenges

 Life is full of challenges and more we live more we face new events. Some pass easily and others not. Therefore people are divided into groups: one works hard and exerts great efforts and the other one gives up rapidly.              The world we live in is not perfect, and we will never ever find a world such as the perfect state which the philosopher Plato talked about.

 Every day there will be things that make us cry or feel sad about our selves. So people who will stand in front of the difficulties which they face, they will be able to improve them selves and let their dreams come true. Such people have been known during history, like prophet Mohammad peace be upon him, who tolerated a lot to spread the Islamic religion, and the Virgin Mary. Music is the Rhythm of Life

Music is a very important aspect of life because it is one of the most perfect symbols of life. As one of the fine arts, music should be cultivated as close to perfection as possible for then it will have a good chance of being that effective symbol which points beyond its essence to something that defies explanation. The musical experience re-creates sound - physically when performed and mentally and psychologically when listened to. 

The world would be a very quiet place. Music is in many ways the fabric of our lives and the definition of society. It is a reminder of how things once were, an indication of how things are, and a view of where society is headed. Music is a direct reflection of the picture of society. Music can be a way to deliver messages, a poetic medium, a fine art, or nothing more than a source of entertainment. No matter what it is used for, music is the perfect art and our lives would be that much less complete without it that life as we know it would not at all be the same without music. Music is the perfect art. It has movement, because it progresses over a set period of time. All musical works have a beginning and an end.

Music is an art closely related to life. Each day of life is a new experience; each dawn opens a new paragraph of opportunities. The rhythm of living day-by-day is good because it is certain; it will more than likely arrive. But more important, each day offers unique experiences. The wise person never has a monotonous life. Each time music is interpreted it is a new creation ; it attains new life. 

The life of each individual reveals a theme. Each person has his own logical reason for being. All humans generate a melody in life, a basic attitude toward life, a philosophy of living whether he or she realizes it or not. The history of human musicians is rich, and has many fine people lining its ranks. Music has changed the artistic and non-artistic world immeasurably, such that a world without music is nothing more than a terrifying fantasy. The very prospect is difficult to consider.

Last but not the least, it is very essential to quote this fact that all the sounds of nature are all part of the greater Music of the universe. Man-made music is entirely influenced by the true music of nature. For humans to create music is inevitable. It is as natural as thought. With mankind being surrounded by nature’s music, he has no choice but to make music of his own. Therefore, the idea of a world without music is highly hypothetical. This "world without music" seems to have incoherence and cracks in it. It does not make sense and does not quite explain itself. Music is essential for the world to even make sense. A world without music would be a quiet place indeed.

Orphans are special

“THERE IS NOTHING FOR AN ORPHAN TO REMEMBER EXCEPT HATE, IF THERE IS NOT A LOVE FOR AN ORPHAN TO REMEMBER”     Orphans are common in fairy tales, such as most variants of Cinderella. Many religious texts, including the Bible and the Quran, contain the idea that helping and defending orphans is a very important and God-pleasing matter. 

Two of the most important religious leaders, Moses and Muhammad, were orphaned as children. Famous orphans include world leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Andrew Jackson; the Muslim prophet Mohammed; writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, and Leo Tolstoy.

In the common use, an orphan does not have any surviving parent to care for him or her. Orphans are relatively rare in developed countries, as most children can expect both of their parents to survive their childhood. Much higher numbers of orphans exist in war-torn nations such as Afghanistan. Wars and great epidemics, such as AIDS, have created many orphans. 

A child is like raw clay whatever shape we will give it will mould accordingly. Child is most truthful and innocent being, he or she should be treated with great love and respect, they have right to get good education, opportunity in society to grow as good citizen. They need protection from family to build confidence to face the world and care to nurture their childhood.

 Unfortunately there are millions of children who are living without any support, care and roof. They are deprived of family and education and forced to live in inhuman condition. Such helpless children are known as orphan. An orphan is a person who has lost his or her parents and therefore he is left alone and nobody is there to take care for them.

In Dubai orphans are treated as social responsibility of kingdom. They are first sent to pediatric hospital for first aid and basic medical treatment. They get all the basic needs like food, clothes and shelter. There is well devised adoption process where these orphans can be adopted by citizens.

 In order to bring about changes in these deprived children we all need to act together, government should make permanent arrangement to bring a wholesome environment and give them equal opportunity. It is important to educate children who have parents that these orphan children also need their help and support  & not sympathy.

All across the globe people work towards welfare of orphans. Great efforts are being taken by countries like Europe, Africa, US, Asia, and Russia. Great efforts of mother Teresa has resulted in changing lives of millions of children. Like she rightly said that "Let nothing perturb you, nothing frightens, you. All things pass: God does not change. Patience achieves everything who ever has God lacks nothing."

Our Teachers as role models

Teachers are one of the main pillars of a sound and progressive society. They bear the weight and responsibility of teaching, and, apart from parents, are the main source of knowledge and values for children.

Today, the Effective teacher is one who sometimes sees himself in his students. Therefore a teacher is just like an actor who plays many roles such as:

* A modern teacher is a helping teacher. It is the teacher who through the class room imbibes the feeling of ‘Share and Tell’, ‘Give and Take’, ‘Think and Do’ in the students which is later on generated in the society.

*A modern teacher is always Flexible in his Approach. The modern teacher encourages new trends in the field of education. He is ready to make experiments to make the teaching learning process effective by keeping in view the new trends, new waves in the modern society.

*A modern teacher welcomes changes and accommodates the society with upcoming trends. As the technological advances are taking place rapidly, everyday, it is new thought, new wave and teacher welcomes the changes and makes the society ready to face the new challenges, new trends.

* A modern teacher is Good Counselor. Teacher’s field is not limited up to covering the academic side but he also performs the role of a counselor for the students and the society. He is considered to be the specialist and highly knowledgeable person. People look up to him as a person who can really give a good piece of advice.

* Transmitter of values: He is the one who carries the higher values, virtues within him so as to become a role model of the society and thus strengthening the moral aspect of the society.

* Custodian and Architect of our future; Mrs. Indira Gandhi Said “Nation’s well being depends on teacher’s well being. Our teachers are the custodian of our future.”   Modern teacher has an important role to play to shape of the future of the country.

The teacher is the architect of our future. They are the one who show us the right path as someone has rightly said “Teacher is just like a lamp, who burns itself to light others”.

Along with all these qualities, modern teacher is democratic, sympathetic, self confident, industrious and most importantly self confident, having strong sense of duty. As someone has rightly said, “All things to all his pupils”.

As Dr. Radha Krishnan said, “The teacher’s place in the society is of vital importance. He acts as the pivot  for the transmission of intellectual traditions and technical skill from generation to generations and help to keep the lamp of civilization burning”.

Politics- Don’t Hate it, Be a Part of it

POLITICS is defined as the science of government; that part of ethics which has to do with the regulation and governance of a nation or state, the preservation of its safety, peace, and prosperity, the defense of its existence and rights against foreign control or conquest, the augmentation of its strength and resources, and the protection of its citizens in their rights, with the preservation and improvement of their morals. Sadly Indian politics stands for none of this.

It was a different era when India fought for independence from British colonial rule. The giants of the freedom movement were those who were successful in their own professions or calling. What mattered then were education, integrity, talent and capacity to serve the nation. The scenario changed almost overnight as India became free. A new leadership emerged and with it came strange shady characters, which seemed to have a remarkable influence on matters of State and on the State’s leaders. Extra-constitutional power centers flourished.

As like any other democracy, political parties represent different sections among the Indian society and regions, and their core values play a major role in the politics of India. Both the executive and legislative branch of the government is run by the representatives of the political parties who have been elected through the elections.                                                                

Since India has a multiparty system there are a number of national and regional parties. 

But at present, Indian politics is facing many problems & disparities which needs immediate check & for that we have to take the initiative.

We need to exercise our right to vote, implement and use tools like the RTI effectively, we need to be aware about what is happening around us, we need to raise our voices against what we feel and know is wrong and most importantly we need to start thinking of joining this system because if there is any way we can think of doing a cleaning up act it is only from the inside.

Festivity of Eid

The significance of Id-ul-Fitr stems from the special meaning it holds for the entire Muslim community. Legend says that Prophet Mohammad had laid down Eid ul Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha as days of rejoicing and feasting for the Muslims, in the remembrance of Allah. Since then, Muslims fast for the complete month of Ramadan and offer spiritual devotions to the almighty Allah, believing that the fasting will bring them close to Allah and also get them forgiveness for their past sins. It is believed that whoever fasts during Ramadan with absolute faith shall have his past sins forgiven. 

Another important aspect of Eid ul Fitr lies in the distribution of charity on the day. Every Muslim who has some means must pay Zakt-al-Fitr, a sum to be donated for the month of Ramadan, to impoverished Muslims. 

Id-ul-Fitr is also a festival that fosters brotherhood and interactions, as people visit each other on the days of festivity. Friends, relatives and loved ones are greeted and offered sweets. Gifts are given to children, mostly in the form of money. Some Muslims also pay a visit to the graveyard to pay homage to the departed souls. Some scholars also believe that the month-long fasting is undertaken to acknowledge the superiority of the spiritual realm over the physical realm. Nevertheless, the spirit of conviviality surrounds the celebrations of Eid ul Fitr throughout the Islamic world.

Talent Sharing Program

We believe that the world would be a better place, if it had more bridges than walls, if there were more people than machines, more hearts than brains and more sharing than gathering. We believe that through sharing talent between young leaders the world will be a better place to live in. 

Talent Sharing Programme is one such activity that can strengthen the foundation of the society. Under this initiative, students from Private schools will undertake the task of enhancing the language skills of Governmental school students. Sharing of talent is one aspect of involvement; the students from both sides will gain in ways more than one. 

First, a society with good communication will develop. Second, the students from different social backgrounds will get to interact with each other where they will learn to relate with each other despite the prevailing barriers both social and economical. Students, who are graded and barred by mere boundaries of money will experience a sense of belonging, hence, working together with mutual consensus towards a better and collective future.

Students will get to feel the real taste of life, realizing that it is not a cake walk for majority of mankind; and stories of success after constant struggle belong to personalities who walked on earth in flesh and blood. They will learn to equip themselves with readiness to accept and move out of the comfort zone, into the world where living and survival are terms synonymous with each other. One will be able to see beyond the aspects of personal fulfillment, and a sense of equality in all walks of life, and for all, would set in.

The less opportune students, on the other hand will be able to see that no dream  is too big, and money is never a problem till the quality of education is right. Talent Sharing Programme, when taken seriously can bring major changes in the society.

When a private school student gets an idea about what life is for a govt. school student, who might be studying without electricity, using a second or third hand book, may be subjected to dead insects and rotten grains in the name of midday meal, and studying after all these hardships- he will realize the importance of who we are over what we have; hence, demolishing the concept of measuring someone on the Money-meter.

It might seem that students from the cream class may be above the not very well off ones, but this is not the case, and more often than not, the situation is the opposite. These “ not very well off “ students are better equipped  and ready to take on life, because when they rise, they won't forget their roots, or the fact that they weren't born with a silver spoon.

This programme is an effort to eradicate the unnecessary and unhealthy gap created between two faces of the society. It requires the contribution and willingness of the private school students- an endurance , that the “present” student is a “future” leader, irrespective of anything at all, and to make a good system, mutual coexistence and collective development are the keywords- which has to start right from now, the formative phase. Talent Sharing Programme is a step to bridge the gap and shun the walls, which, we believe, will make for a better place to live in.

Value of Friendship

The causes of modern social problems, from divorce to homelessness and obesity, are often thought to be based in areas such as poverty, stress or unhappiness. But researchers suggest we are overlooking something crucial: friendship. It would appear that our society is ignoring its importance.

The value of friendship is something that not many people take time to ponder over and appreciate, and it may be said that we often take our friends for granted. Often we only realize the value of friendship when we find ourselves in need of a friend: when we are confined with problems and need a shoulder to rely on and to get advice for our complicated issues.

If we find ourselves to have lost a close friend we understand what we have truly lost, and understand the importance of friendship in our lives. We have many people entering our lives, some for a short time, others longer, each on a varying scale of personal relationships from associations to intimate love and marriage. We form a bond of true friendship with only a select few, those that move with us through the stages of our lives.

Friendship comprises of many human values such as sympathy, mutual understanding and compassion, but above all it is about honesty, trust and love with a degree of intimacy. Friendship is undoubtedly a central part of our lives, due to the concerns we have for our friends and also because our friends can shape who        we are as a person. Most of the times we need friends for companionship, conversations and laughter, but the real virtue of friendship lies in the support that we get from our friends, and the concern that they show.

There are many things we value about friendship; aspects that can be seen from the outside such as spending time together and doing activities together. But the values in friendship, the intrinsic values, are what make friendships a core part of an individual and his personality. 

There can be many more reasons why our friends are so dear to us and why their friendship is so precious. Friends fight for us when we are insulted, defend us in front of the world and pray alongside us in difficult times. But as important as it is to have friends, equally important is to know how to maintain them. The seeds of friendship need to be sowed deep and the plant needs to be carefully and tenderly nurtured to bear a great fruit.

Friendship is one of the most beautiful and fragile relationships in the world. Our friends are our pillars of strength and give us the much needed support and comfort that we all seek in life.
